For those of you that have no idea who Ron Yates is...

He is one of the two guys who started Global Trades way back in the day.

I found a trunnion but in talking to the guy he mention using a 1.6mm reciever like from Global trades due to the rail thickness. He said I could use one of the others but I would be better off with the thicker reciever. Can one of you give me a confirmation on this info?

SSwee, the chinese, yugoslavian, and supposedly the valmets all were supposedly built with the thicker receiver metal. Thus you will have to do some work on shimming both thee rails and for the trunions if you use a 1mm receiver. This is from what I have read though, others who have built chinese ak's might know more.
