I bought 5 boxes of Paki POF 79 at the gunshow last weekend. It looks ok on the outside. Does it work alright in a CETME? Is it reloadable?

I bought a case and shot two boxes and works great and good groups for mil surp ammo. I clean the cartriges for any gun I shoot with rubbing alchol since they are all well, not clean! It keeps the chambers much cleaner I find.:)
It is Berdan primered and a port buffer helps to cut down on the dents for reloading and if someone has the saved reloading berdan deprimer parts and manufacturers it would be great to have also!

Your CETME will probably beat the crap out of the brass though, probably beyond reloadability...

Someone found a supplier that was going to have port buffers available in the not too distant future also. Anyone remember?:D
I was surprised to see a picture posted in the old forum that seemed to imply that the Paki ammo had tar sealant like the indian stuff does. I haven't shot any since the day I got my CETME and the shop owner threw in a couple of boxes of the stuff, so I don't remember whether it gummed up the chamber flutes or not.

I imagine the stuff was made for the HK type of rifles as the pakistani army carries them. There have been comments that it maybe tar sealed before but I dont have much of it around and not even sure I could find it without a good afternoon of searching. You could pull a projectile or just shoot one round and examine the case, but sounds like with only a hundred rounds you would really just need to ensure your chamber is clean after useing the stuff.

ive had good results with my paki 7.62x51 ammo in my CETME. If the pakistanis thought it good enough for their G3's fluted chambers, then i imagine it should work fine in a CETME fluted chamber.

I have gone through 1000 rounds of Paki between my Cetme, FAL, and PRT91. never had a problem. Shoots faifly accurate for me.

I haven't had a problem with shooting the Pakistani 308 in either my CETME or my HK-91. Its not very accurate but seems to shoot very reliably in either gun.
The only problem I have with it is the cost of it these days. It was always considered a second tier ammo behind Port and SA and used to be pretty
cheap. But now my local shop has it for sale at close to $300 per thousand.
Still and all I guess its better than nothing.
