I got bored, and was looking through the members list...

just 8.5 people under half of our membership here have never posted!

I wonder why that is??? do you have to register to see pictures or something? Or are we so scary that people don't want to post?

as of right now, we have 765 members, and 391 of those have posted.

just thought it was an interesting little tidbit of info.

Some peeps are just lurkers.

On another board I frequent a member made a post to a thread I was participating in. I was wondering "who's this guy". I looked at his profile and he had been a member since 2001 and only had about 40 posts!

Thats typical of most boards. And yes, to see pictures you have to registar and be approved.

Plus the spammers.
I run an forum for atvs.
And there are alot more members that are spamers then youd think.

Spammers as in 'folks who register an account, and let it sit for months/years before dropping in nasty pR0n links and such'

I get 824 members.

weird... when I click on "members list" it says "1-30 of 766"... it was 765 earlier.

I imagine a lot of them are wanting to view the pics if its required. Ive registered at a couple places to read some info threads, and only posted once or twice if at all...

I've got no beef with the non-posters, I just thought it was interesting.

I lurked here for a while before ever posting, I have memberships on many sites, and dont post either, or have just posted once or twice, due to a interest in one topic, thus folks not posting at all might not be as sinister as thought, just folks want to see photos that catch their eyes, and thats all.

Posts: 20,215

I see the same as you on the member page.

I figured it out. The difference is Registared Users vs Registared Users that have been approved by moderators, but didn't click the final link in the approval email.

I didn't post right away on CETME Rifles. I lurked for a while. There are more than a few boards that are full of flaming tards waiting for some FNG to post and come down like F4's laying napam... Not always a present experience. This board has by far and away full of the most helpful and easygoing folks that have been my pleasure to hang with..

Ouch, I think? Nevertheless, this is a very good community, and I feel better being a part of it. I'd feel real good if the name "Henry" hadn't been already taken, but meh, can't win them all I suppose.

On the plus side, I come with a disclaimer, so I really don't need to rethink my posts, right?

I don't see any irresponsible postings here. This site has become my favorite board because of this.
