We needed a decent Republican choice, guess I'll be doing my homework on him too. At least he looks a lot better then the other choices.

Hillary and Obama have no record, and have never fought real campaigns.

They are toast.

But so are the RINO republicans and the rest of the Repubs.

Go Fred Go!!!!!!:America::rockon:

Ya but fred will have to work at this one, I was listening to the news this morning and with his other distractions while in the senate, he wasnt pushing alot of bills thru the senate or such.

The road to the first Tuesday in November, starts early in Iowa and New Hampshire, ending with super Tuesday(pretty much I should say, that point will enable the front runner to coast to the convention if not totaly locking up the nomination by then). Thus he will have to work with a large group of folks all over the nation, not just with a power base in tenn. That said the greater variety of choices we get as voters the better too.

It is about time. I thought Fred was a congresscritter, not senator. I could be wrong, as usual.

Well the reporter said he didn't do "much work" while in the senate, I am guessing with other interests I wonder if he chaired or where he was in the leadership structure.

Interesting that in his Senate elections the oppisition made sure that he was labled a laywer, lobbiest and Washington insider(which if you read about him its true) in their campaign ads.

That said there have been presidents with far less experience in the political areas, Eisenhower (and I can mention Grant but I am thinking of modern presidents not the good ole smoke filled back room power brokering of a long gone era) with no previous political experience. Ronald Regan plus others including Clinton, Carter, and FDR just to name a few that were just governors of states before president.

Nope, Senator, elected to finish out Al Gore's seat after he became VP(vacated in 92, but not up for election till 94 for the last two years of the term) The appointed Senator, was not interested in running, and when Thompson anounced, the Democratic interest in the race waned. He then then won reelection in the next election two years later for a full term(six years).

I e-mailed him and ask him to run yesterday. I didn't think I had that much pull :icon_biggrin: I think he is our best bet at defeating Billery and Obumma. McCain is an idiot and I flat out don't trust Rudy on guns or anything else. What the hell did he do to SAVE NY after 911. They act like the whole city would be gone if he didn't get on TV and run his mouth.
Let's all make an effort to help Fred out. Get all your gun-owning, No-voting Friends and relatives to vote for him!

Out of Repubs running he is the only one that I could see my self voting for. Romney: no, Rudy:no(not really conservative), Mcain:no. I hope Fred gets the nomination.
