After some research the only difference I can find between the two is the SA has an aluminum lower. Other than the handguard and bipod (mabey). Anything else? Just give me your opinion on the two. Is the bipod easily removed? How hard is to to add an optic rail? Thanks Bryon

You are pretty much on line there....The SA58 is built with all new parts from DSA, includes the new aluminum lower. The STG58 is built on an Austrian parts kit by DSA, with new barrel and upper receiver. Both can be had with a bipod cut barrel and yes the bipod removes easily. As far as an optics rail, about the best you can get is DSA's rail. Mounts up rock hard, no movement.

My opinion, STG with the steel lower, but that is because I'm an old fart and any time I can pick steel and wood over aluminum or plastic, I do.

Might want to look at their warranty info also, I think on the SA's they have a lifetime warranty, and I don't think they have it on the STG.

DSA stands behind their rifles, they make great guns. you may have a little bit of a wait to get a new one, but its well worth it

I'd go with the Stg.
