The Great 308

About a year ago I got the opportunity to purchase a great little combo from my brother. He offered me a great price on his NIB Springfield Armory 1911 with 4" barrel and his NIB 16" barrel Marlin Camp rifle in 45ACP.
Not only are these two guns the same caliber but they also share interchangeable magazines. Both shoot great! The Camp rifle is awesome it came with both the original wood stock and a synthetic side folder which I love. Now I just want to get one or two of those new 40 round drum mags for the Marlin.

"get one or two of those new 40 round drum mags for the Marlin."
That does sound cool. It'll be the 21st C. tommy gun!

Nice combo!
Has anybody tried one of those new drum mags yet? I have not seen any reviews.

All I have seen of those Promag drums is handled one at a show. I wonder how much of a stickler for being cleaned they would be and such.

That's cool; sorta like my Ruger PC-9 carbine and P89 pistol. I like the fact that they have interchangable mags.

Make sure to check the buffer in that camp carbine--particularly in the 45 version, they can wear out, and cause the bolt to crack the reciever. they were hard to find, but blackjack buffers is making them, now.
My HD combo is the Browning High Power and my Norinco UZI. They don't share mags, but they do share ammo, and with a good supply of 30 round UZI mags, who cares?

I guess I found my camp guns' big brother. Mine is 9mm, now I just need to get a s&w 59 series and my mags can inter-change.

MY HD combo is a Laurona SBS 12-guage, a Glock 27 with Winchester Rangers, and a barrage of 22 lr rifles and pistols. I can put 10 rounds in a few inches in under 3 seconds with both my P22 and G22.
Only question will be which one to grab first... they're all loaded and ready to rock. The 12-guage is normally the first one I grab when things go bump. I like the carbines... been wanting to get one of those Berettas.

Mine was around $350 back in 1998 or 99, or when ever I got it. The stock was $60 I think.

I think they run around $450 to $500 the last time I checked. I got my 45ACP Marlin Camp rifle and my SA 1911 as well as 400 rounds of ammo for $450 from my brother. LOL. I am sure I will never get another deal that good!
As a side note Marline does not make the 45ACP or the 9mm Camp rifle anymore.

You need a sound suppressor for the carbine!
