I traded for a century cetme a few days ago.I took it knowing the magazine
would fall out each time it was fired.I replaced the mag release spring and fired 8 malfunction free rounds.Since. not more than 2 rounds have been fired without a jam.The spent case will extract but not eject. The next round can't feed properly.Another thing, the charging handle sometimes hangs .If I pry on the ejector with a screwdrider it will free up and the charging handle can be pulled all the way to the rear. The ejector is sloppy and has lateral movement however it seems to have spring tension. My bolt is not ground and the gap is .015.I have cleaned this rifle very well.I purchased 10 new cetme magazines and cleaned and lubed them.I also have one HK magazine.I have searched but can't find a like thread.I need your help! Thanks

Check to see by holding the UNLOADED rifle upside down and pull the charging handle back. Insure the ejector is riding in the bolt groove. It could be bent. You can watch it and see which way it needs bending back. There is possibly a root cause of why it got bent. When you get it back in the groove and not binding, see if it goes deep in the slot. If not, your trigger pack may be low. This can be fixed fairly easy but first thing first. Get the ejector straight and give a holler back. Good luck and safety first!

There used to be some very good photos on the old Cetmerifle site showing the proper ejector height into the bolt-face slot. Are those photos still available? They might be helpful here.

did ya whack it with a bigger hammer ?!?!?!?!?!
yea i know ... go to hell . did that done that it's called marriage . but thats another story ...
sounds like the problem is in the extractor and spring ... a weak extractor spring will dechamber the round but will not keep pressure on the case till the impact of the extractor lever whacks it into orbit ....
pull the bolt face off and try to move the extractor in the bolt face it should almost make yer finger hurt trying to move it . if not replace extractor and spring ... i recommend Robert at rtg parts...
hope it helps

When I first got mine the exact same issues occured. My extractor was loose. I pulled it, bent the pin more and it tightened up. Bought a spare and replaced it later figuring the spring pin was past its prime. The ejector was bent a little but worse, there were file marks on it. Bought another ejector which really showed how much a MONKEY had filed on the first. No probs since.

if it is hanging up dry cycling, that's my best guess as to where your problem lies.
Sounds like the ejector is binding on the bolt. It should be a little "sloppy"... as the bolt and carrier move back, they kinda seesaw it up into the groove. If your trigger group is too high, it can bind on the bolt and not let the bolt operate right.
IF this describes your problem, you can REMOVE material on the shelf that the trigger groups sits on to make it sit LOWER, or you can file a tad on the ejector until it doesnt bind, but still rides high enough to hit a spent case.
I recommend grinding the ejector first to see if it fixes the problem as they are cheap to replace if it turns out to be something different. And then if it is in fact the problem, you can work on the shelf and replace the ejector or leave it as is.
It could be your extractor as well, but I dont see a problem with the extractor causing the binding when drycycling the action.
hope that helps, or at least gets you started.

Trigger pack is riding too low and needs to be shimmed up at the receiver shelf.
If you look at the rifle with the lower assembly attached, you will see it is lower at the front than at the back.

With the rifle UNLOADED,and tilted to the left the charging handle will lock to the rear and charge with no problems. When the rifle is tilted to the right. the charging handle hangs. and the bolt is bound by the ejector.I can pry on the ejector with a screwdriver and free the bolt. The ejector rides deep in the bolt groove. I don't know if the ejector is bent but it looks ok.There is a lot of slop in the ejector left to right.I will check the trigger pack to see if one end is higher than the other. I think the retaining pin and or the ejector mounting hole are worn. What do you guys think? What parts should I buy.
Thanks.I appreciate your help.

sounds to me like the ejector has too much slop left to right, so whn you tilt the rifle right, the ejector gets off kilter, and instead of riding in the groove, it rides on the land of the carrier, thus making it bind. Then when you hit it with the screwdriver, youpop it back into the groove, and all is well.
The next question would be why does the ejector have left to right play. Fix that and I can almost 100% guarantee you fix the rifle. someone post a picture of what the ejector is supposed to look like from the side and from the top, so maybe he can figure out what he's missing.

You guys are the heat.I pulled the trigger pack and found the piece the small end of the ejector fits in was bent.I adjusted it with a pair of needle nose and the slop is gone. The charging handle fully retracts every time.I am going to the range tomorrow!!!

You jogged my memory. The side of the trigger pack in my frame was bent also. It didn't move it too far but sure did put it in a bind. Excellent work. You got pointed close and found the answer yourself.
