I'm looking for parts for my JC Higgins 51-L in .308.

Long ago I had a scope placed on this rifle an upon doing so the 'smith removed and did not return the rear iron sight.

Now I'm trying to find another sight to place on the barrel but I can't find one.

Any of you master rifle guys know where I can find one? Numrich Arms carries some parts but not this one. I've done some amateur googl-fu and found that the 51-L is also the Husky M-5000 but I can't find parts for that either.

Can anyone help here?

http://www.chuckhawks.com/j_c_higgins_50.htm This source says it maybe a FN action. Also says they were actually made by High Standard with imported actions.

I have "HVA made in Sweden" stamped on the side of the receiver.

I'd love to know who did the barrels, if High Standard did it even better.

Its a 583.5102 on the barrel, according to the googl-fu this still puts it as husky sold by Sears.
