for G3 at kyimports.com. Saw them on the website but have no other info, and they're Hesse so if you have to ask don't try it.

Are Hesse Receivers really that bad? Could they be any worse the the Century SS receivers?
What about the Federal Aluminum receivers?

I beleive if you research, hesse receivers are the basis of the stamped century receivers. (some one correct me please if I am mistaken on that one)
The FAC/federal aluminum body receivers were made for home builts, that all you did was take the receiver stub off of your trunion and then pin it to the receiver, thus no welding. If done right it will make a good rifle, if not will be a problem child. Springfield armory built sar8 rifles built on them marked springfield not fac. The fac have built in scope rails, and will not take the collapseing stocks from g-3's. The material is much heaver than either the cast stainless or stamped steel receivers though.

Hey guys, Just a quick update. I just called KY Imports and they said the website was out of date. They have been out of them for about a year and a half. I remember I seen the ad in Shotgun News about that long ago and they told me they had sold out and there would be no more.

okie shooter, I looked into that and it seems the Century receiver production was bought from our friends at Special Weapons around 2000.. Sold CIA the rights, plans and tooling. Now Special weapons Sold out the last real asset, their MP5 clone plans rights and tooling. So right now, only PTR and CIA are making HK91/CETME receivers and no one is making MP5. Vector is still making their 93 clone for .223 but are out of all of their receivers. They have JLD PTR91 in stock and are looking in to starting their own production of the MP5 clone receiver. (I spoke with them yesterday 06/05/07) They said it'd be at least a year before you'll see anything and that's if they fast track it. They are having problems keeping up with their gun orders so no spares for retail..

Seattlefungus, I thought the special weapons might have been the cast ones from century but been a while since I had read the thread on it and have slept since then for sure. Thanks though for correcting me.
