My Midway tumbler died this morning. It's about eight years old. I sent them an email asking if they had any replacement motors, and got a phone call back about a half hour later. That surprised me a lot as I had not included it in my email to them. They asked if I was the original buyer (yes) and told me they had had a recall on the tumblers sometime back. They told me to send it to them and I would be sent a new Frankfort Arsenal tumbler and a refund for my shipping cost. Wow. A new shop vac for postage - A RIGID 6.5 HP that died ealier - and now a new tumbler. Only downside is the bowls aren't interchangable and I have two extra. Maybe I'll make landmines out of them. JUST KIDDING BATFE monitors! My brass is slowly rotating in a large rock tumbler now. I'll check it in a few days.:icon_biggrin:

You are lucky to have been called for a replacement!
I have three tumblers and the Frankforts had the wires break first and I repaired them and then the motor screws and nuts got loose! Fixed that also! Afraid if I send them back I have the same thing again over time! My Lyman seems to vibrate and clean better in less time and has yet to fail. My repairs have lasted longer than the original units did without repair also!
All three of mine work well now!

The warrentee is for one year on the Frankfort. Berrys (Barrys?) has a tumbler for about $50 with a 3 year warrenty. I'll look at the connections and nuts before I use it.

I got the new tumbler. The base and motor don't look much different from the Midway tumbler. The bowl looks cheap. I checked the feedback on it and now I'm hoping it will work. I still appreciate Midway replacing the old one, but it doesn't sound like an improvement over the original. I'll use until I don't.
