Wolf Gold 7.55x55 Swiss Report

Went out last week to see how stacks up against the surplus stuff at 200 yards and since it's all rainy out thought it would be a good time get around to writing the report I said I'd do.
First pic is the compairison of the two rounds, the Wolf's(left) got a 174 gr. copper jacketed soft point bullet sitting on top of a boxer primed brass case. The GP11 surplus(right) is also a 174 gr. spizter fmj with a wax seal/lubricant.
Second picture is a view from the bench with the arrow pointing at the general area of the target... it's the lighter colered spot way off in the background. An 8 inch black circle's pretty small that far away.
Third one's me shooting, and my dad's K31 in the background. We had matching rifles out, K31's and Persian Mausers.
Fourth is the groups from the GP11. Not too bad for open sights at 200 yards. The one little hole on the bottom was from the second group that flew for some reason I don't remember, just went "crap" right after I squeezed it off.
Fifth is all four groups, two surp, and two Wolf, as marked by the colors. The Wolf seemed to open up just a little bit for me. Still within MOB, or Minute of Badguy, though, so I'm not too dissapointed by it.

Nice range too. That reminds me I need Swiss ammo too. The K-11 hasn't a single round

It's a nicely built range, but the only reason I go there is for the 200 yard part. That's the place that's insanly anal about things and only allows 5 rounds in a semi auto among other things.

So I guess the question is what do you prefer better? Wolf or the surplus? They run about the same price I think, thou it has been about a year since I bought some. I think I like the surplus better.

I think the surp is just a tad bit tighter, which makes sense with it being a pointier fmj, and I don't hunt, so there's really no advantage of the soft tip for me. The biggest difference right now is I can run accross town to Fleet Farm and buy the Wolf, but nobody has Surp ammo in town.

If you like how the K31 shoots try a 96/11. Last time I had mine out I put 5 shots in a 4 1/2 inch group at 300 yards with my reloads. I use a 7 1/2 inch circle I paint orange as a target. I need to get some bullets so I can load up some more ammo for it though. It don't shoot the same load my K31's do.
