My buddy just finished a couple of projects he was working on, just thought I'd share, I helped him a little.
The First is a replica Colt 605 carbine, and the second is a "regular" A1, he used the NDS recievers for both...
I really like the way he did the finish on the second one, it looks like it's been around a long time.

Sweet 605. I'll have one someday, but I need the XM-177E2 first. Did you know that NDS makes a 605 upper? It's not absolutely essential, since 605s had various uppers, but if you wanted to add the unique 605 upper, it's available.

Posted before, but here are some of mine.

My lightweight KISS keeps getting less simple, and less lightweight.

I think that is something they just came out with, but yeah they look sweet... There is something to be said for the KISS concept..

I think the Trijicon sight is due a pass on the KISS requirements, as it has not batteries and no electronics. The E1 used to be an A1 with a black re-arsenal finish. I rebuilt it as the E1 shown, and used the black A1 upper and lower to do the 653.

ARs are the ultimate "Mr. Potato head"

Really well done. Where did you get the lowers???

There not mine, he got the lowers from No Dak Spud, he sent the one off to have the Colt stuff engraved on it. I'm pretty sure if you ask them, they will send it to the place to get the engraving done, and when it gets finished the engraver sends it to you, that way you don't have to pay to receive it twice. I think don't quote me on that....

Neat! I just started tinkering with AR builds a few months ago and can't quit, it's so fun not to have to pry things out or drill out rivets to change out parts. I really got a bug in my ass to have an A-1 lookin' AR so I whipped my shorty barrel off my armalite since it had the carry handle and got it a 20" barrel, then just before it arrived I found a table at the gun show that had all the old, shiny black plastic furniture and a three-prong flash suppressor. It's like it was meant to be!

Those are some fine looking A1's, I don't know how I missed them the first time around.
They just give me the fever for a 20" A1 again.
