So a co-workers father died who had a decent gun collection.

I was given the opportunity to go through the gun stuff and buy and cheap prices stuff I could use.

I picked up some AR parts (A1 furniture and parts) , but also saw some parts that concerned me and wanted to ask before I got them.

The guy who died had lots of parts kits, and amongst the parts I found an M16 complete FCG.

My question is: Can I cut the tail off the disconnecter and the bobtail on the hammer and use those in an AR15 without running afoul of the NFA?

Thanks for the input, google has shown me very poor answers and lots of misleading information......

I think general consensus is that the normal AR15 parts are cheap enough to just play it safe most of the time.

You can alter the disco, hammer, and the tail in the middle of the selector. There is a diagram on the net somewhere to show exactly what to do. The trigger on an M16 has an open rear end. AR15 it is closed, so either weld a plate somehow or buy a semi only trigger. Springs are all g2g. BCG is fine. Dont play with the auto sear.
