Folks, my heart is still in this, but my head has been elsewhere.

Remember, COG numbers have never been given in order.
A COGster with a number in the thousands may very likley have been a founding member due to custom number requests.

well, ill try to explain it briefly.

The CETME OWNERS GROUP, COG:

it all started when i put this in my sig, some four years ago,
on DONJ's CETME forum at GunBoards.........

"join the COG, The CETME OWNERS GROUP.
A drinking team with a shooting problem"

Perro noticed it, got a chuckle, and asked how to join.
and there you have it. the birth of the COG!

you have to realize, it was a time when there was much grief
and headache about the ground bolt issue, because it was so new,
and not understood. a LOT of people were saying Perro didnt know
what he was talking about, even tho he was the only one who had
ANY answers that could be explained on paper, or with a calculator.
some people were getting downright nasty about it too.
and all Perro was doing was trying to stop people from getting hurt,
or worse!

after all that nasty bullshit, it turns out he was right too, go figure?

the COG proved to be a welcome distraction for many during this time.
before i could blink my eyes, 50 more people wanted to join
this force of one. the LISTING was born.

then i got an idea, i worked in a tshirt shop, why not print some shirts
and hats, so we could find eachother at gunshows and shoots,
even fly our flag in the pictures we posted on the board.

guess what happened, i got layed off a week later, and the shirt idea
died in the planning stage.

but the COG numbers still have a kindred value to the shirts that never
were. if your on another forum, and have your COG# in your sig, we
know your family, and a true friend, even if you go by another name.
and hell, we can still do them shirts someday, nuts, we got stickers!

so what is the COG?
in a word UNITY!

its just a bunch of people who truly care about eachother,
help eachother when they can,
and pray for you when your in a bad place.

trust me, i dont think i would still be alive if this were not true,
and ive got the scars to prove it....... prayer is a powerful force!

thats about it bro.
theres no news letters,
no prize giveaways,
no bosses or ranks...
hell the COG numbers dont even go in any special order,
people can have any free # they want.

thats not whats important to us.

whats important to us is, well, us.
our being and sticking together,
no matter what comes our way,
and our wellbeing as a whole.

because within the COG, no man stands alone......

jeeze, ive been away for two weeks: had a major family issue i had to commit 100% to. ill post about all that later.

for what its worth, im "scary biker - 'looking' guy" because i dont ride the "big" bikes. i still dont know who tagged me with that either, but it made me laugh like hell!!!

my thing was SP/DP bikes. (special/dual purpose bikes)
you know, "Enduro". street legal 4-stroke dirt bikes with mega CC's.
like the military uses now, go figure?

if i cant get off the bike, pin the bars between two trees, kick it into granny gear, and watch the rear tire spin w/o stalling, it aint for me.
but shit, its been YEARS since i was even able to lift a leg, ya know?

I think K98 has the backup to COK's list, but dangit I hate to see COK go. It can be frustrating as Hale to spend time on posts to be kicked out. If he wanted to e-mail it to me I would cut and paste it into the forum for him, or whatever. Yeah hate to see COK go, I've sure found his posts to be an injection of adrenaline into alot of threads.

Hey, dave, I've has the same thing happen to me and it will piss one off mightily. Here's but a suggestion: type what you want to say in w word or notepad document, then copy and pated the text to a post. Beats the time-out count every time!

I feel your pain brother. Something went through about 2 months ago that still affects my computer. If I delete anything it starts over. I won't show my avatar then after a day of not deleting it will show up. It's fine right now. It will let me post even though it still asks to log in. Just does it once sometimes two times but I hit the "remember me" button BEFORE I hit enter and it works ok.

its like a political restriction for one finger typers who dont run FireFox,

Does being the proud owner of a JLD PTR-91 and the parts to build 4 CETME's have any bearing on my qualifications? Also once the owner of an HK 911, which I unfortunately sold before I found out just how rare they are.

What kind of bizzare initiation rituals might I have to undergo? March at my next local health care protest carrying a sign that says "DON'T SHOOT INDIAN AMMO!!"?
