I just bought a case of 7.62x39 Golden Tiger, I've never used it. Is it any good? Is it at least as good as Wolf MC?

Shot just fine in my AK (200 rnds). And it looks and is as dirty as wolf. I was told that it's made in the same factory in Tula as wolf? But I have no idea if it's true...but it shot fine for me.

Is it at least as good as Wolf MC? It's great stuff.

Comes out of the Vympel Arms factory over there.

Supposedly golden tiger is the orginal factory set up to make 5.45x39 ammo and they have branched out. Its been a while since I read about problems with the stuff, I am forgetting the specifics.

edit, thats the ticket Nalioth beat me to it. :)

I just wish they'd export some more fresh 5.45. Yeah, I know the surplus stuff is cheap, but that is the stuff you put away (cuz it'll keep past your lifetime).

I'm lazy and I like shooting fresh noncorrosive stuff.

Hopefully it will be good then. I was a little concerned as I have yet to talk to any that has actually ran it. I was worried about safety more than anything, but by the the sounds of it here I think it'll be ok.

Hay so am I, thus I have bunchs of the 5.45 stuff, in wolf, and I think brown bear, but I am betting its actually made by Vympel though and just packaged for the other markerters. On your yugo uf, I was toying with dangleing some wolf 5.45 for trade.

GT is my favorite 7.62x39 ammo, and has been very accurate in my AKs. It uses a boattail bullet--wolf is flat base, I think.
I have an un-opened case of GT myself.

Great ammo, functions fine in my UF. Bear in mind that it's got a copper coated steel jacket though. Some ranges don't like that. It was a bit of a surprise for me when I shot a steel target in my back field and saw sparks.
