Do you guys know of a good resource for info on k98 bayo's?

I just commited to buy a 1939 elite diamant k98 bayonet and know nothing about it. I remember once being told they are some of the rarest k98 bayonets???

Ever once in a while some turn up on EPay, and usually go for more than they are worth. Sometimes a deal will slip through and you can get one for what they are really worth.
There are usually some repro and humped 98K Bayonets at most gun shows, but I have learned that don't trust anybody that says something is "authenic" there is so much humped stuff out there that you have to be a whole smarter than I am to tell the difference.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a whole bunch of "newly found bayonets" to turn up from Eastern Europe. The Ukraine is a poor country, with a lot of very smart talented people. They are turning out fake stuff as fast as they can and selling it as original.

SAMCO had originals with bakelite handles for 80

The earlier models had wood grips

Check out the k98 picture thread. Tanker put a link in there for some. I called and ordered one. They were getting low so not sure what they've got in stock.

I have a friend who used to go to the Soviet Union/Russia, he brought back some nice nazi/german edged weapons, how he got them out, was I guess just in plain sight because they were considered state property, even in the hands of ex solders. I am guessing they are worth twenty to fifty times what he paid in the day though or more. I am sure if the Russians ever figgure out what the edged weapons they had in storage captured from the germans was worth, they will kick them selves for getting rid of them, or finally sell them to a wholesaler.
