Yup I live just south of 'ol mudville (meadville) and yes Channellock is still there...thats where I work in fact!...making the best US made hand tools in the world! Been there 20 years this June.
Yes the Brig Niagara in Erie (Perry's flagship) is sailing the great lakes...really cool that a warship from the war of 1812 is still sailing...what a beautiful thing to see also...an old wood sailing warship under full sail. Gotta see one in person to know what I mean.
And yes I just took my family to Pymatuning last summer (gonna do it again this summer). Where else can you rent a pontoon boat for $50 for the afternoon, cruise the lake and go to the spillway where the birds walk on the fish (long story but I'm sure Steelcore knows what I mean).
Cool to know you been here Steelcore!!!

I'm a flatlander/inlader thse days, but things weren't always as they are now... I miss the great lakes, quick access Canada and NY state, and the Trees/mtns of the Allegheny...I gotta get to th Poconos sometime again.

Mike,
I belong to Easton Range:
http://www.efga.net/
Nice place
Me, being new to CETMEs...all rifles actually...I'd really like to go with you...if you have the time - I have the ammo :)
I've taken some training at the Hellertown Range ( http://www.hellertownsportsmen.com/ ) from Argive Defense ( http://www.argivedefense.com/ ) and that range seemed nice as well.
With Roseto R&G giving you such a hard time, these might be worth checking out as well:

http://www.pointphillipsrodandgunclub.org/
http://www.eastbathrodandgunclub.org/

I haven't been to any of them, but most of them seem inexpensive enough to give a try

Sellersville, PA ...Home of the John Fries Rebellion. John Fries balked at the unfair Federal tax circa 1790s so he burnt down several federal tax gathering outposts. He was captured and sentenced to hang. The then Pres. Adams intervened, called the tax unfair, repealed it, AND pardoned John Fries! Today he would be executed.

I USED to make the old PGCA shows in Monroeville & Harmarville (no - I was NOT in Monroeville when the AD happened. Sturmvogel,
Welcome.
If you need any help with your new CETME, drop me a PM.
With the exception of repressing a barrel, I believe that I have addressed all of the issues associated with a CETME.
And if you need some spare parts/mags/stocks,etc, well let's just say I have a few extras.

Hi Hoover,
Thanks much for the offer. Right now it's still in pieces, as I told Evilblackgunsrfun, it was the dirtiest, oily, greasy mess filled with dirt and fines I've ever seen. Buttstock not nice so I ordered a complete Hk set along with pins, rollers, springs etc. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. We'll remeasure bolt gap once back together again. Sitting at ~.0075 when I bought it but passes the dime test and bolt is unground. Thanks again.

your going to have a lot of fitting to do trying to get the hk buttstock and forearm to fit on your cetme. im not sure on the rollers and such either. i know the cocking pieces wont interchange.

Deth502, I bought a G3 'setup', forearm (narrow), buttstock and backplate with guide rod and spring from Roberts and was told that it would fit my CETME with the only modification needed being to the plastic ring at the end of the guide rod. Couple of guys told me it would fit, and it's listed that way in Roberts Compatibility List as well as by the nice lady that took my order. Same with the rollers. Ooo boy... am I missing something here???

03-18-2010, 06:56 PM
youve already mentioned about the recoil spring, also, on the forearm, teh cetme is held in with a screw, the g3 has a takedown pin like on the rear stock. youll have to do something there.
as i said, im not sure on the rollers, if they said they would fit, you should be good to go, ive always gotten good service from rtg.

Many thanks for the heads up! We'll see what happens when it all gets in and I get to putting it back together again. If push comes to shove, the handguard is in pretty good shape it's the buttstock that's pretty bad. Looks like solvent of some type ran down it and stripped the 'black' off. Looks like a skunk! Thanks again for the heads up!

EBGrF, I pulled mine out the other day to look at it after hearing from deth502 and the forarm is held in at the front with that small spring loaded pin, just like yours. No idea why these would be different than some other CETME's?
Evilblackgunsrfun
03-20-2010, 01:44 PM
i think with century it comes down to what shift or person is building the rifle , the screw probley ends up in the forearm because the builder was to lazy to get up and grab a handful of pins

news to me. i have 2 g3 clones. both have the pushpin forearms. i thhink some of the very first prorotype g3's may have had the screw, but ive never seen one in person.
my g3's have teh hk style hanger for the handguard to free float teh bbl. teh spring pin goes in this part.
http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/notes/noteshk/hkptr91build/3frame02.jpg
never handles a century cetme, but ive handles about 12-15 kits and every one of them have had teh screw on forearm. ive never seen a cetme with a pin on front end (except for a few that were modified by the owners to take hk furniture) teh cap on teh forearm looks like this and the screw goes through to hold it on.

Well one thing I've learned is that I need to figure out how to upload a picture, it being worth a thousand words!
Mine does have the pin and does not look like your picture deth502; interesting. The one thinng about my pin is that it is not tight like those in the buttstock; it is rather loose in its slot. Were the threads drilled out at some point so the pin could be used instead? Will take every thing apart and look to see if I can tell or not.
Evilblackgunsrfun
03-21-2010, 10:59 PM
lol the pin hole in the century plastic forearm is just alittle more sloppy then it needs to be,but the pin hole a slim g3 forearm is alittle tighter, doesnt make you feel like the pin is going to fall out like the cheap century forearm
