I know the purests won't like this, but I think it rocks, too bad I don't have an extra $1300 laying around.

It is in .308!

The only reason I don't have one is that it offends my pride to send a Garand off to someone else for work. Unfortunately, I don't possess the machining skills or equipment to modify the parts to make a Mini-G, so I'll probably send one to Shuff someday.

I've had a mini G (in 7.62mm) now for a couple of years & you wouldn't believe how much lighter & handier it is over a full sized rifle. Definitely one of my favorites.

There was a fellow on AR15.com who had a "Tanker Garand" build in .308 that also accepted M1A/M14 magazines. Was a nice looking gun.

call me a noob but that looks like a m1a1 socom with wood furnitureYou're not a 'noob', slackjaw - the M1 Garand (which this is based on) evolved into the M14/M1A - operation of the safety and the rear sight are identical, in fact - and the receiver and gas system are quite similar.
