Geez, what a tough choice. Either rifle is a great buy if they are in the condition you say they are. A unissued 70 model no name would go for
$300 to $350 right now and there is a limited number of M39's produced
in each year [ 67 to 70]the no name was produced. At the sametime a M27 in that condition and price is even more hard to find. I would go with the M27
myself. If both are in the condition you say they are, then your not going to get hurt on either one and can always get your money back or some more, if you decide to resell someday.I've never owned a M27 but I've read posts that say the M27 is as or more accurate than the M39. Whatever you buy, be sure and let us know how it shoots and post a pic if you can.Good luck
and good shooting.

thanks for the reply it seems most people here are not turned on by these two rifles . both are like new both look like rearsnled. which from what i hear is not worth as much as in there first build. but to add to my problem a friend stoped by tonight with a very nice savage enfield for sale. but i like the finn stuff better .

you know i love my new M39!
but since you've got 3, i'd say
yeah, i'd say $200 for the unissued M39

I see M/27's selling from $350-$550 all day long. A 1970 M/39 in unissued condition sells for $300-$365. Both good deals but the M/27 is worth more now and will also be worth more in the future. Either way could you pass the deal you don't take on to me

"1970 m39"
-->I had nary a clue they were stil producing Mosin in any make that long! Wow!

Any good mosin is a....good mosin. And with a choice of Finn Mosins...how can you choose wrong?

--you can't.

That's a great price for either rifle, but the rearsenaled/minty M27 for $284 is a steal -- I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat if I came across it. Any idea as to the maker and year of the M27? If it's a 1932 VKT then it's a deal of a lifetime. I have a few M27s in the collection and the least I paid for any of them was $275 -- and that one's not nearly mint.

The prices on M39s have definitely been rising in the last five years -- man, I miss the unissued VKTs for $140 and the unissued Bs and Sakos for $180 that WGA was offering 6-7 years ago! -- but the unissued/minty M39s will be around for a while in fairly decent numbers, while the M27s were rare even 7 years ago.

Go with the M27. You won't be sorry.

Cheers,

~ Greg ~

SteelCore this dealer has all the M/39 Finn Mosins you could wan't. Just keep in mind what ptrthgr8 said that they sure ain't cheap anymore. link: http://gunsnammo.com/ oramoc how about passing the deal you don't take on brother :icon_biggrin: I would say both rifles are pretty close to equal amounts under current retail value. There is a pretty minty 1940 M/27 on Gunboards WTS Forum right now for $440 shipped. The M/27 is the one to get because M/39's will be more available in the future IMHO.
