OK, the locking piece is ramped or tapered, different size rollers will make the locking piece, (that is connected to the bolt) move father foward if the rollers are smaller

Negative size rollers are difficult to find and can be expensive. They are for the HK21, but will work in a Cetme/G3.

-If your gap is that large, are you sure the bolt carrier isn't resting on the cocking tube stop?

-Are you letting the bolt slam home and pulling the trigger prior to checking the gap?

-Did you clean it?

Here is a picture to show you the relationship. It is out of the Spanish Cetme manual, which is available for download for free. Its listed under the CETME FAQ sticky at the top of this forum.

Yes, what Tanker said. Unless you have just repressed or replaced your barrel or something, it is very unusual for a Cetme/G3/91 to have excessive bolt gap with standard rollers. Something is probably holding it open. Like no cocking lever gap or trash in the mechanism. If all else fails, PM me and I may be able to help you with rollers.

With a new build, Id definitely check what tanker said. Is the bolt carrier resting on the charging mechanism or did you gap that properly when building?

If thats all ship-shape, then get some (-) sized rollers made for the HK21.

- rollers shrink gap, + rollers raise gap.

You should be able to get the rifle into spec with some -4s and -2s and Id get both so you can tune it a little bit. Maybe the rifle runs smoother with a .016 than a .020.... Its nice to have options!
