Was in the Local gun/pawn shop today and they recently bought a few guns from someones collection. Saw a Mosin 91/30 that was arsenal refinished and looked darn near new. Started looking it over and saw that all the serial numbers matched including the bayo. The rifling was like new as well. Looked closer at the barrel and it looks like it was never issued. The thing looks brand new. I have picked up hundreds of these things and none look as nice. I made an offer of 75.00 and the store owner countered with 90.00. I had 80.00 on me and it walked out the door with me.
Taking it to the range will have to wait till wenesday.

I do so hate being teased. If you got a cherry M/N we need to see it.
I've been drooling over these for several years now, but haven't moved on it as of yet.

hahaha I know what you mean. My wife is still asleep, but as soon as she wakes this is all over. Congrats on the cherry Mosin!

my wife thinks I own one Mauser, Whenever I'm cleaning a new one on the dinning room table she asks me "how many times are you gonna clean that thing?" I just smile and shrug my shoulders :-)

I think you got a good deal. Pawn shops in my area like to charge almost new prices for old beat up junk, like the stainless .357 Blackhawk that had pits on the outside of the barrel near the muzzle for $400.:wohow:

Sounds like you got a great deal. Mine is not as nice and I paid more. We are all anxious to see some pictures.
