I'm not involved with this auction, but isn't a Mars Equipment Cetme for $750 a steal? http://www.auctionarms.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=8034070 I'm betting that it goes for a lot more than that.

$2000 to $2500?

I just bought a Cetme and was tempted on this one, but I would probably baby it way too much.

maybe so you can never tell how a auction might go. you can see the same type of rifle in same condsition go for differant prices. might be because it's harder in some states to get what others can get more easy. or how bad someone just wants it. but still money in the bank.

I'd like to have one but I don't collect guns, I shoot them.
For those in the know, of the two which usually gets the higher price? Mod B or Mod C?

That won't stay there, plenty more up value on those things for sure.

Still at 750 today. Auction ends tomorrow...

750 would be a total steal for that CETME. It does have some pristine mod B hardware on the forend...I got mine from Spain, and it was dinged and bluing gone.

I'm a shooter of my CETME, and the true CETME collector should have one of these. I have been collecting Mosins at an alarming rate tho...

Look for the bids to flow in in the last few hours of that sale...if not, I miht have to see what I can sell for a $1K...and bid!

The real allure is that these MARS builds have the original receiver and internals...no cut the receiver and re-receiver here in USA...it is the REAL DEAL. Sturdy, smooth, etc..anyone who's shot Perro's tuned MARS says it iz teh bezt...

There is no B or C. The wooden forend was offered on latter models as the "deluxe" version and came with the clamp on bipod. The only diverence between them was the forend and bipod.

There are variations from year to year in the lower, and in flashiders, but these were evolutionary and not distinct between the standard and Deluxe.

Then which would go higher? That bipod looks nice but the wood is elegant. Sheeite, I'd have to get both.

These things sell so rarely, I could not say which would fetch a higher price. However. Switching them out takes 5 minutes, so I would opt for the model B forend, as those parts are hard to get, and Cetme wood is as cheap as kindling. You could alwasy put the wood on when you wanted to make your gun 2 pounds lighter. That's what I do.

Man, someone got a stellar deal!

The mod B forend and bipod--used--from Spain ia 150-200USD alone...if you can find someone ther eto buy a parts kit and ship...
