It could be a lot worse fellas. I know there is no CCW here, but at least our gun laws are not like those poor saps south of us. Really, imagine if the legislature tried any form of Draconian gun control here. 600,000 rifle/deer hunters alone. Madison would be their last holdout if that happened. And I don't think the diaper wearin pot smokers on state street could stop us from invading.

I'm surprised at no CCW but you can have everything else. I guess I've only really hung out around in Northern Wisconsin though. Never spent much time in the burbs.

it' just pretty annoying to have a governor who's main issue is to shoot down the CCW everytime it comes up... he has stated several times that he will continue to veto it everytime as long as he's in office, and it just barely fails over riding the veto...
and his reasoning? He believes all the crap the anti-gun people say. Somehow he's convinced if we have CCW his state will turn into the wild west and we'll be having shootouts in the streets every day at noon. Nevermind it's been proven the exact oposite in every place that has it... he's just completely convinced a cold chunk of inanimate steel will turn any man into a murderer just from touching it.

Boston, too bad it's in the People's Republic of Massachusetts. That place is INSANE. I lived there for years. You need a firearms permit to own pepper spray! You had better be a member of a protected group otherwise you are a target. The only good thing is that so many men are taking divorce lawyers with them when they commit suicide. As a result most lawyers are armed, becoming supports of the 2nd amendment despite themselves. Gotta love the irony!

For those not aware of the denied area behind the Cheddar Curtain, the City of Madison, Wisconsin has the sole ownership of having the only Communist ever elected to any governmental body in the United States.

No, I did not mean socialist -- they have a ton of them there and in Milwaukee -- but a real Communist. He was a student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and was elected mayor of the city. (For some stupid reason, the locals let out-of-state college students vote in local elections and you reap what you sow at Kremlin Midwest.)

While visting Wisconsin I walked into a left wing book store
(if you could call it that) Man I was shocked by the hate.
I thought the Nazi party don't have nothing on you people.

We hung out in bunch of bar and saw the Packers play on a beat up TV set
I found it hard believe the left was so entrenched after meeting so many Wisconsin people who wear camo as part of the normal clothing, owned guns, hunted, drank American beer, ate meat and cheese watched football and Pro 'Raslin' on TV.
These are people who love fishing, snowmobiles and 4x4 trucks.

I thought how did these left wing loonies get a foothold up here?
The normal people you meet on the street seem to be 180 degrees opposed to these crackpots.

By the way we had a few people ask us..
So.. what country yu two from?

We said Virginia
they said Ooooo that explains why yu talk kinda funny

is one of those places where the "few" make the descisions for the many..
Hence the reason I used my standby "communist" label. The sad thing is that there are a lot of really good folks there, they just can't swing enough votes to chase the commies out of power.

Of course Iowa aint a whole lot better, but they do have concealed carry, and instead of paying a 8.00 fee for a background check to buy a pistol and wait 3 days, you by a annual permit to acquire and pay 10.00 for as many handguns as you want to buy all year. Sweet deal, no 3 day wait, no extra cash each time you by a handgun.... I would say it's less communist than WI.

Went back to TX for my uncle's funeral 6-7 years ago, you could carry into the funeral home, but then they had signs inside that said it was prohibited to carry into the individual rooms where the visitations etc. occurred. Maybe that was just funeral home policy, I don't know. Don't remember any such thing at my Mother's or grandmother's funerals there.

Well , if it`s just a get together , anybody want to shoot an IDPA match while we hang out ?

Hartland Sportsmans` Club has an IDPA match on the first Saturday of the month from April until October , it`s in Delafield off of I94 & Hwy SS.

Nice folks there , been a member myself for several years. Close enough to Waukesha , Milwaukee , and the other bastions of liberal idiocy.

It`d be nice to meet some of you guys.

Ha HA. Poor saps south of us. Hilarious.

Too funny that people in WI even thinks gun laws are strict in IL.

At least you all have an open carry. We don't even have that. Heck, it is borderline illegal to even carry an unloaded gun in a locked case in the trunk of your car trying to take it to the range.

tlendy25
08-17-2009, 08:49 PM
at least we can own class 3 firearms here

another thing IL prohibits.

Don't know if suppressors are considered class 3 or not, but we cant have them either. Actually it is illegal to even have pepper spray in several counties. Stun guns, forget about it. Now they are restricted the same as any firearm.

Did you hear about the $1m liability insurance that they tried to force gun owners to carry?
