Ignorance to me is okay. It is not one's fault to be ignorant of the facts at hand, however; to speak of a subject without any real knowledge, is a fault in itself. I posted a question on one of the forums last week about a particular rifle, and got many good opinions from members of this forum. ( Thanks ) Then, as I always do, I continued my research by making calls to manufacturers and sellers, to form my own conclusion.

I spoke with a dealer, whom will remain unnamed, and got a load of BS about a real AK is. I would bet that none of the readers in this forum have an AK47, AR15, etc. Unless you have an original Soviet made, fully automatic rifle, then you have a varient, or knock off (Arsenal, Red Jacket, etc) . Unless you have an original Armalite AR15 , then you have a varient, or knock off. (Colt, DPMS, LWRC etc.) Slapping a name on it doesnt make it better. So shut up about what is real, or true to form. What say you?

Sounds to me like someone shot their mouth off and this gentleman took exception to it....I know of several forums that have lots of folks ever ready to criticize every firearm different from their own....Also a lot of folks that got pumped full of crap and believe every word of it.
I certainly hope you suffered no damage or loss because of what you were told by these folks.

There are snobs when it comes to dropping brand names. Women do it with clothes and shoes and some men do it firearms, riding mowers and pocket knives. I get the jist of your post and I am with you. That's why I stay here.

technically any firearm that is of the same design, but of another manufacturer is a knock off. colt did not design the original ar15. that does not make it any better or worst. i would prefer colt, over armalite anyday, so dont think i am knocking your weapon. I was just pointing out the facts. i have a century built m70 sporter, that i would put up against any other ak, as far as reliability, and accuracy, and cost half the price.

Hmm... You do bring up a good point. Some folks will bash you no matter what you do. For instance: My 1873 Colt Cattleman is actually an Uberti. Therefore, it's NOT a real Colt Cattleman. But it's still my Colt Cattleman. My 1858 Remington is a Pietta. But it's still my Remington. My Sharps is... Well... I'm not sure... My Winchesters are real Winchesters, though... But I digress... Not all Enfields were made in England, BUT they are still Enfields. Not all Nagants were made in Russia, but they are STILL Nagants... Not all 1903 Springfields were made by Springfield, BUT they are still 1903s... You get the idea. NO. an AK47 is not an AK47 unless it is an actual military variant. True. Just like an AR is NOT an M16. An M1A1 is NOT an M14. Ad infinitum. Yes, the guy was right, but NO, the guy was not. AR15 is the design, NOT the manufacturer. Kalashnikov is the design, NOT the manufacturer. You get the jist. Anyone who wishes to bash you for not having the "genuine article" is moronic and probably doesn't know any more about real firearms than they do fornicating. (yes, I borrowed that from General George.) They bash you and make you feel inferior so you WONT ask any more questions for fear of being bashed again, and THEY are saved from having to expose themselves for the ignorant jerks they really are. Hey... Those guys are the same guys that always had hot drunk chicks at their parties you didn't attend in high school until you showed up to one, then the hot drunk chicks didn't show up until RIGHT AFTER you left... You get the jist. Their party wasn't any better than any other, but they wanted you to wish you were them. Dont sweat it. That guy was a douche.

i have a 1918 Colt Vickers gun which is an all original C&R Machine Gun registered in the Amnesty. If anybody was to ever tell me that i didnt have a real Vickers but instead a knockoff i would laugh at you hysterically and group you into the category of people i refuse to waste my time with.

The OP is deffinetly venting from some idiot fanboys from arfcom, hkpro, or both. I am a member at both sites, mainly for their for sale threads and so I can see technical pics, but never get into brand name-calling. Its so stupid, all the mall ninjas saying if your rifle doesnt cost $2k or the gas key isnt "properly staked" or "milspec" then it's crap. I have a genuine Uncle Sugar issued M4 burst fire 3 feet from me, time now. Out of all the AR style guns I have at home, this (government issued) is by far the least "in spec" and its the only one that should be spec. My gas key is hardly staked, upper and lower are loose as hell, trigger is attrocious, the finish is worn off all over (from multiple deployments), but it still works.

When it boils down, its your rifle, buy what you want, customize how you want. If those fan boys give you crap on the internet for it.... I had to stop myself because that sentance was going to sound rediculous. Hell for all you know those guys are prepubecent 12 year old girls who read a manual or a pic thread. You are safe here on MF.com.

The gun forums have really went down hill since i started, and i cannot tell if its just the direction of the forums, or if it is because i am growing up, or if its because i have grown jaded.

I have seen my share of brand name loyalty which is rampant on all the forums - there are even a few brand name snobs on this forum i have mixed it up with over the years. It's cool to favor one brand over the other but to put someone else down for owning something different is wrong. I personally dislike hi point firearms, but i wont hate on you if you buy one and like it.

last time i went to arfcom i was berated for using the term Cement instead of Concrete. I was also quickly corrected for using the term bolt set instead of Bolt Carrier Group or BCG, and i have been told that the CORRECT term for the a2 sight frame is a FSB lol!! I look back at myself and laugh about how i used to be this way when i would correct people on the term Magazine instead of Clip. Anymore when i hear it i dont want to be "one of those guys" so i just keep my mouth shut and will keep using the term magazine and let them use the term clip - what do i care??

I have a you tube channel where i put up neat videos that interest me from time to time and i always get someone who thinks they know alot about something but really dont. I was recently told that i was incorrect about the type of firearm i posted a video of, and i was also told that the capacity of ammunition i listed in the description of the magazine was incorrect, and then i was told that i was loading too much ammo in the mags - doesnt matter that ive spent countless hours loading the thing and wasting the money on the ammo going down range.
Whatever - why should i care? Im not sure why i do, but im trying to just avoid commenting to those types of posts.

I am also constantly berated by the safety Nazis. OH MY GAWD!!! YOU ARE NOT BEING SAFE!! YOU ARE NOT WEARING YOUR SAFETY GLASSES IN THAT VIDEO!! WHERE ARE YOUR EAR MUFFS?? YOU NEED DOUBLE HEARING PROTECTION AND A FULL BODY CONDEM TO SHOOT GUNS!!
i was recently told by one of the guys who saw one of our videos that he refused to shoot with such unsafe shooters because someone wasnt wearing there safety glasses!! Bugger off then man!!
The U.S. Marine Corps never issued me safety glasses, or hearing protection. The hearing protection in the US Marine Corps was a rolled up spent cigarette butt stuffed into your ear canal.
they are my eyes, im a grown adult and have been shooting for a very long time and i know the dangers of richochets and jacket richochets, and understand what will happen to me if i get a richochet into my eyes with no glasses. I live in Las Vegas where it gets VERY hot, and i would argue that foggy safety glasses that are dripping with sweat could possibly be more dangerous than no safety glasses at all. In our small group of shooters, a minor who is out shooting must be made to wear safety gear because they are not old enough to make educated decision yet, but adults who know better are never hassled by me about this. You want to shoot your eye out, go ahead, what do i care?

I take my machine guns, and other NFA toys to the County shooting park sometimes, and it never fails im ALWAYS hassled about SOMETHING there. I do it just to keep them on there toes sometimes cause i certainly dont enjoy being hassled. Last time i was there i put grease in a suppressor as an ablative to make it more quiet and it was smoking when it was being shot which stunk, and one of the guys quickly ran up to me and interrupted me shooting and told me i was burning up my baffles lol "Dont you smell that man!! Youre burning up your baffles in your can" . Yep!!

Then there are the Fudds or TYPE of gun snobs
as i said above, i take my MGs to the county range and it always upsets the hunting crowd that i am just "wasting ammo" and "hes just burning up his barrels"
ummmmm, its MY ammo, and MY barrels - who cares if i am wasting ammo, and barrels?? They are mine to waste right?? Shooting machine guns is FUN for me, and by god im having FUN no matter what you have to say about it. The ammo hoarders are the worst offended by this!! "THINK OF ALL OF THAT AMMO HE IS WASTING !! THAT IS AMMO I COULD HOARD AND SQUIRREL AWAY NEVER TO SHOOT AGAIN!!" If it wasnt for those damn pesky machine gunners there would be more ammo for me to buy up to sit on to never shoot, forget the fact that ive probably bought more than the machine gunner and never shoot my guns cause i dont want to dip into my ammo stash, its all the machine gunners fault cause he actually shoots his gun!!

i dont know man, i've grown away from the forums over the last couple of years. I was told by lots of the long time gun owners i know that eventually i would move away from the forums and they were right. i spend MUCH less time on them than i used to and its because of the types of people i describe above

I'm glad you cleared things up-- I couldn't really tell which side of the fence you stand on, from the original post.
There as SO MANY legitimate variations to what the jackballs have to say about it...if anybody thinks my wartime-production Ithica M1911A1 isn't the real thing, I've got a problem with that. Ditto for M1 Carbine "variants", and Garands, and...it goes on and on.
And, YES, my Century SAR1 IS an AK-47. AFAIAC, if something is made to the original specs, that's what it is...as long as nobody tries to pass a repro off as an original. Obviously, a dressed-up 10-22 is just a 10-22.
This is just like the CB radio craze during the 70's... the 98 lb. weakling, little-old-man suddenly became Mr. Badass with a D-104 microphone. If they can't SEE you, than can't tell that you aren't what you are posing as. And, there is some "tribalism" to it, too: If WE all agree, and YOU don't, you're the outsider, and you lose. And, like Perro and others have pointed out, it's often the misinformed that think they're experts. Those are the people that refer to CETMEs as "HK Clones". Sorry, the CETME came first.
This messageboard, unlike many, will come up with an answer, instead of bashing the newcomer and his or her ("dumb", "stupid", "silly", etc.) question to the point of driving the person away forever.
I'm to the point that, if I have a question, I'll either ask it here, or just Google what's already been said at some point in the past, rather than post the question in some forum that "appears" to be related
to some specific firearm, just so I don't have to deal with the "pecking order" of some forum where I'm an unknown.

There IS a difference between "ignorance" and "stupidity". You can cure ignorance...
Sorry for your bad experience.

WOW, I did not think that so many of you would have replies, especially with such relevance to the original subject. I am glad we could all be entertained by this, and I agree with you all. Garands, M1 Carbines, 1911's, AK's, AR's and just about every other weapon in history has been remanufactured over time; designs sold, copied, and replicated usually due to cost, or supply and demand. It is my opinion that over the years, those designs kept, were the keepers and those not, weren't. It is simple as that.

I suspect that some have been offended by this, and for that I am regretful. $65000 in guns is a hell of a lot,,,,,,,,, just for some knock-off, just kidding!!!!!!!

Ha HA! Good one... Yeah, really... You wanna really make them mad? Just go on there and tell them you have a date. They can play with their "genuine article" rifle all night while you take a genuine female out for a good time. THEN they'll all wish they were you... OR tell them your mother came over to visit and you made her dinner... That'll burn them up, too, as most of them probably still live with theirs... If anyone gets snippy about your rifle you can say "Well... I had to pay the housenote, so I couldn't drop two grand on a rifle that does exactly the same thing that my five hundred dollar rifle does..." They want to play superior, you just beat them with real life... Works every time.

I've made this analogy before, and I'll make it again,,,,, this site is to the internet community, what the old day gun shop or small local sporting goods store was to most of you guys fathers and grandfathers. Just like today with the forums, there were, in those days, sporting goods stores and gun shops where the impersonal snobs and know it all jack wads hung out. There were those where the old timers hung out, guys went to share ideas, and there were those where the young guys went to listen to the old guys and look for answers. The only real difference here is the lack of face to face and physical atmosphere coupled together with the automatic anonimity of the internet.

The old shops and stores that were cold and impersonal holes for self centered narcissists and know it alls faded away into the shelves of big corporate impersonal suppliers of high priced goods that those people could impress themselves with. Unfortunately, the buying power of those, eventually choked out the existence of the small shops. But I say this,,,, that same spirit of fellowship, of common guys talking about the things they have and enjoy in common, still exists. It exists in places like MFA. That is why I keep a spot on my bench open for my laptop, If you see me logged in here, most of the time it means I'm in my shop, and all the guys who come here are there too. Every little bit, I click on "New posts." and then on "Subscribed threads." And if I have something to share I try to, but believe me, I reap far more from this site than I sow. I can never say it enough, this is a great site, with a great bunch of regulars. It's reputation for being the "shop of knowledge." and the friendly clean atmosphere, shakes your hand when you log in and most of the obnoxious slammers and flamers usually walk in, see the crowd and turn around and leave, just like they did twenty or thirty years ago in the old shops where they did not have to be told they weren't welcome unless they were just so out of control and out of touch with reality that no other way would work. We have such a broad spectrum of personalities here, and varied interests, and just like in the "shops of old" the atmosphere and respect afforded one to the other, was almost always a direct reflection on the personality and respect of the owners. The sucess of this site is due to the thinking and ideals of the owner and the people he has working for him.

Me too.

TO the rest of the world: I was pretty good at those games you could drop a "quarter" in... but there was a big time-lapse between then and me "getting on line"... and even then, I had to struggle up to "doofus" level at playing online games, in fact, I SUCKED because I didn't know how to get the screen up to "full screen", so, I had to just hide in the weeds in the early days with Perro, k98, etc. But, eventually, I got SO SMART that I hit the button to be a "server"... duh? For some inexplicable reason, lots of peeps liked MY server... as it turns out, I has a VERY LOW ip address, like 4.33.x.x.
SO, I got's myself a KWEL gameserver (an overclocked cheap CHINESE Wallyworld 800MHz boxen) with some, uh, mal-appropriated OS, shall we say?
AT ANY RATE, despite my lack of mad skillz, got it running, and, K98K offered, kindly, to spend some of his time making sure all was right was it. PERIOD.
And, that's the way he ran things THEN, and that's the way he does things NOW.
I'm not saying that I authorized him to run around and chastise people misbehaving, he'd never do that: I let him RUN the server, period. And, he did it well.
What I failed to understand was that he could do all of THAT, AND kick my ass...all from his DIALUP connection, at the time.

I'm a NICE GUY, and, generally, I'll give any chump the benefit of the doubt....... BUT, ya really, really gotta be trustworthy to have control of MY gameserver.

blade, i agree, but everyone does ther own thing and it is ok with me. i have played the game in real life with real guns and for me playing it on the computer ( i tried it) but is just not the same.

i live very close to the gulf of mexico ( less than 8 miles), but i am not a fisherman at all. two times a year the local party boats take out disabled veterans to fish ( for free). i would go and help them. one of the boat held about 65 vet that were fishing. the local shrimpers would cull there shrimp and trash fish and would let us know when the fish were ready. you would not believe how many fish would be caught. sometime the guys would get so excited that we didn't even get to rebait the hooks and the fish would be in a feeding frenzy and they would catch fish without any bait. we would get so many fish that the coolers would be running over. all kinds of fish would be caught. they would give away all the fish at the end of the fishing trip to the food kitchen and the vets. there would be people waiting at the docks to clean and bag the fish when we got there. but when the price of fuel got so high they had to stop doing it.

ron

we use to have tarpin in our rivers, but over the years they got fished out, but now there have been a few spotted in the rivers again.

we have a fish hatchery less than a mile from my house, they started out with red fish and now have several types of fish to rebuild the fish in the gulf.

See, now we have the old farts talkin',,,,Planning, if you want to see something pathetic, my son tried to get me to play the COD thing on line once. You may remember me as the guy who just stood there looking around while people shot my dumb a$$. I never lived long enough to even graduate beyond what Randy calls the "doofus" level. But I tried for the sake of interacting. Now, I can out fly all of them on Flight Simulator, and they still can't take me in a live paintball match. I went tarpin fishing once off the coast of Costa Rica, but the seas were so rough that the only thing I got to pull on was the belt of my buddy while he hurled over the side for a half hour. Used to fish the inter coastal water way between Tampa and Clearwater when I worked down there for a few months, but never caught anything other than a few sea trout.....Rocky Mountain boy way out of his element with no local tutor.... Reading M1's post about the Marlin fishing had me pretty jealous, we are planning a trip to Hawaii for our anniversary in September, but I doubt it will get to include anytime in a boat chair, maybe someday.

I was supposed to be on my way to Idaho today, but, nothing has gone according to schedule this past few months it seems. So I am burning some catch up stuff on the laser today, doing a DC for the raffle rifle, burning 36 flashlights, 12 Kerhsaw knives, a little custom order for drine , and putting the finishing touches on a knife for Mojohona. It's like MFA member day in the shop today.

Now what was the OT ................experts, gaming, fishing? I'm an expert at a fishing game.

RandyCOG3

I'm an expert at a fishing game.

Me too. I've got a creek, in my yard, that has both freshwater fish, and saltwater fish, including Snook, mullet, and various freshwater panfish, gar (NOT bigass TX alligator gar, some sort of snubnosed gar), as well as some tasty, non-indigenous species such as tilapia, allimuhgators of the LARGE variety, etc. And, I live even closer to the Gulf than Planning does, as well as numerous bays and rivers that are even closer than that. SO: when I want some fresh fish, I drive to the local fishhouse, and proclaim: "I'd like two pounds of grouper, please", and they give me what I want, and I pay for it, and I go home.

I bought a bow from some old geezer, a former X-time champion of bow-shooting (don't recall the specifics of his fame). A nice, compound bow. I said to him " I notice you don't have any sort of sights on it".
And he said "Don't need 'em". Good enough. So, I ordered 2 fishing arrows on-line, and they came, and I'm thinking "This will be nice, just step out into the back yard, nail a fish or two, w/o the effort of actually fishing". Before I got to do the chance to do that, I flung my cast-net into the creek, just for practice (I'm not good at that, although I could do a smaller bait-net as a kid, quite well).
Long-story-short, I pulled the net back in, and, it smelled like POOP. A LOT. Thusly, I have elected not to eat things, that eat other things, that live in places that smell like POOP. I'm funny that way.
I wouldn't eat a lobster or a crab for $1000, they just hang around and eat whatever comes along.

I should clarify, there is currently no known source of POOP in my beloved li'l creek. Well, dogs, squirrels, foxes, coyotes, cows, horses, armadillos, possums, raccoons, etc., but, it's not like I live downstream from some sewage plant.

RandyCOG3

Edited to add: IF one of those arrows got stuck in the bottom, that smells like POOP, that wouldn't stop me from going in after it.
HOWEVER, gigantic toothy reptiles, that are probably older than I am, that have to EAT for a living, that I KNOW are there, that I KNOW that KNOW that *I* am there, DO keep me from EVER getting in that creek.

Edited to Edit the former Edit: It's just the sediment on the bottom that smells like POOP, it's a pretty, pristine li'l creek.

Yep, a colossal waste of time, trying to compete with chillren. BUT, maybe NOT. I thought it was a great way to waste time, learning to TYPE, way back when, spent a great deal of time not actually learning anything, but it sure came in handy when computers came along, much to my surprise.

BUT... as it turns out, REALITY catches up with kids playing video games... somebody in our gov't DOES take video game gamesters aside, because that's REAL WORLD thing, and asks them: What's wrong with this game console, and, these kids ARE the BEST... and the kids will point out that, NO, I don't want THAT button THERE, I want it RIGHT HERE. It's better to design a fighter cockpit around the best/brightest people, than to let some a-hole bunch of designers design a cockpit, and make the people that already have the mentality to fly it, deal with what is undoubtedly some sort of compromise between a bunch of people that have no clue how to get out there and do the job at hand. This may apply to somebody that IS in an actual cockpit, or, behind the equivalent of a game console, hundreds or thousands of mile away from the actual battle.

The day of aerial dogfights, without a pilot aboard, are, methinks, pretty close at hand. The day of boots on the ground, doing battle w/o actually being there, are further away.

But the bottom line is/was/always will BE, If you can't put a boot on the ground, with a rifle in his hand, you'll NEVER own the battlefield.

Too difficult I expect. The Japanese who make the Winchester repros could do it, but the resulting rifle would likely be above Uberti's typical price point, without the "Guns of the Old West" appeal, being a "Gun of the Not Quite So Old West".

Really... I've laughed harder reading this thread than I have at the joke thread... But I thought my analogy of the ficticious drunk hot chicks at the party was brilliant... But alas... I cannot claim authorship. I was actually quoting my brother from back in the day... HE was the one that always claimed there were hot naked drunk nymphos at any party I hadn't attended. I knew he was full of crap but couldn't prove it. So one night I went to a party with him. Nothing. Not so much as a bare boob or a beer. Lame. I went home. The next morning he was like "dude... You shouldn't have left..." That's when I realized my twin brother was a complete hozer...

what were we talking about? Oh, yeah... knock offs... Well... See... when a patent expires lots of companies try to outdo the original and sell it cheaper. Some times they succeed and some times they succeed in nothing but building a pile of crap.

Hope that helped. But I'm sure this thread is WAY past help...

There are many fora around that have firearms sections, and I think the folks who populate those do so because they couldn't hang on an actual forum like this because their BS just would not fly. For all the comments about colts not being real ar-15, remember that Armalite sold all rights and patents for the stoner system in 5.56 to colt and opted to back devlopement of a rifle in 7.62x51. Thus if you own a early colt ar, its bs that it isn't orginal. When the final patents died for the stoner system in 5.56 then copies and clones came about. Heck even stoner him self had to work on devlopeing a new system, the stoner wepons system and could not use the system he designed for the ar rifle system when armalite tried to compete with the now colt design.

I think that, strictly speaking, the AK's that most of us have are "AKM"'s. So what? If I'm going to have surgery, I want everybody in the room to know the proper, exact name for each little part and piece that they're going to be looking at. Other than that, so what?
My wartime production Ithaca M111A1 certainly seems to be the "real thing"... or, maybe it's a clone...?
Back in high-school, some people were so anal about their Frisbees that, not only did you have to have the 151 gram "Master", you probably also needed to know which mold it came out of.
And I'm sure Jagman will tell you that even having one unoriginal screw in a motor-vehicle will blow you out of the water with the Concourse judges--people that probably had somebody else drive them to the event...(no disrespect, Jagman, for you and your skills).
All of this sort of nit-picking by "experts" reminds me of men in pith helmets and bermuda shorts running around in the jungle chasing butterflies with nets...they know so damned much that they have to take their expertise far, far away to actually make use of it, if only in their own minds. Same thing as a bunch of old hens in a sewing-circle, it's all about the "pecking order"...
Or, maybe it's like the old rooster, constantly worried about the younger males being able to "properly" ring in the sunrise after he lands in the Great Stew Pot In The Sky.

Edward Vickers and his sons were part owners and business partners with Maxim (VSM - Vickers sons and Maxim), and Maxim had retired before the modification to the Vickers took place - no cloning really, just a major redesign of the Maxim by flipping the lock upside down. and to call Colt's the Century of that Century - Sheesh!!! :1087: (cant find the screwball smiley)When the U.S. Ordnance Dept. bought the Vickers gun, the Vickers company in England demanded that they be made in the U.S. by Colt's - wonder why they refused to sign the agreement unless they were made by Colt's?I also wonder why the Colt's made Vickers guns bring 2-3 times what a British made Vickers sells for, and why the Colt's made Thompson brings 2-3 times what a standard Thompson brings, and why the Colt 50s are far more desireable? Must be for that horrible quality from Colt's, oh WAIT, i understand what you are trying to say now - you are trying to say that Century Arms makes firearms that are 2-3 times the quality of HK and Santa Barbara CETMEs huh? Whether its the guy who has to correct someone that they dont have a real M16 cause it wasnt made by Armalite in CA, or the guy who has to correct someone for using the term clip instead of magazine, or whether its the guy who has to correct someone for calling a suppressor a silencer, its all a waste of oxygen to me.
i purposely call stuff HOO HAHS sometimes - technically i know its not really called a HOO HAH, but i can generally get my point acrossed to you that this thingamajigger, or whatchamacallit, or Doo Hicky is what im talking to you about. Dont be the anal guy who has to correct me when i call my muffler bearing a hoo hah - i will laugh at you for trying to correct me just as much as the guy who tells me my Colt Vickers isnt a real Vickers Machine Gun ;)

Where I'm from, that's a hoo hoo. The thingamabob that Perro is referring to as a doo-hickey would be the same thing only if, as he pointed out, you don't know what to call it, or if you don't know what it is good for, which in some cases can be applied to either, so you could both be right...I am sure that hoo ha's are plural and refer to parts that are of equal size and equidistantly spaced and never kattywampus to one another without having been monjawed in some sort of fracus or wizgig.

Oh yeah,,,, and Hoo Ha's can be, and are, regularly cloned, just so we stay on topic here.

I thought if the HOO HAH was askew, then it was discombobulated but if it was out of kilter then, it was cattywompus

If hoo hahs are cloned, then they become HOO YAHs
BIG difference betwixt that and a HOO HAH......... jus sayin

if it is discombobulated and is out of kilter, then a ding-a-ling will bring it back to a "0" degree rating. + or - .001256 or .00125694. at this rate what "was" before will become "it" again in 9+ 8 days. then the left one will always match the one on the right. if this works out it will only become a clone of the first one and not the second one.:096:

I haven't run out of gas,,,,, on the contrary, I am fueled on by each comment, however, at this point the only place left to go gives way to having my reply replaced by a photograph of the illustrious Samuel Clemmons.... and I am trying not to get Twained again until after the first of the year. I'm waiting until someone shifts into another gear here and takes us a different direction.... But K98, being a renowned and celebrated "man of the world" has put us on a course of self destruction. I suspect he must have a collection of new Mark Twain photos and that he has baited us into getting him to unleash them with un-abashed fervor.
