Well my girlfriend wants to build an AK. I've got a couple Romy G's and a Yugo underfolder. What do you guys suggest for a kit to buy for her? I was thinking maybe an AMD or a tantal. Her birthday is tomorrow and I've already got a pressent but figured I'd pick up another surprise.

Also, what reciever do you recommend? NDS, ok that's what I thought.

Both are nice. It depends on if she might prefer the lesser recoil of the 5.45 Tantal.

She's shot my SAR1 with the wire stock with no problems. If anything I could always get her the slip on recoil pad. She does like the folding stocks so she can "make it small" to shoot.

Why not get her a Romy G and a <can't believe i'm recommending this> a T-6 stock, so she can have a stock that fits her (and not just a stockless hip shooter).

An AMD for her would keep the logistics simple. Mags, ammo and the like.

I won't go the T6 route. She can fire the AK fine without it, she just likes shotting it with the stock folded and from the hip sometimes. She's never shot a gun before she met me. She's coming along nice learning how to shoulder the weapon properly and consistantly hitting targets.

That's why she's being upgraded from girlfriend soon.

I would do the Tantal. Ammo is cheap right now and mags are less than $10.00 each.

Tantal, might be nice(just you wont get the ammo at most sporting goods stores, check dunnhams see if they even cary the stuff), there is another thing though, maybe build her a krink pistol or rifle, or even sbr, if anyone has kits out there.
