What i need to know is what for this price is a good quality scope that will hold up to a 223 and also maybe my cetme. I would appreciate any advice.

In that price range you're prolly looking at a Gen. 1 system. These are only really any good if there is some supplemental IR light or the moon is out.

Yeah and stay away from those PVS2 's out there. They are burned out and cannot be repaired...once they have so many hours on them they are done.

never buy used NV...they have a limited life span, and you don't know how much time the previous owner put on them

There is the AN-PVS-4..3rd Gen image intensifier tube...

Your price range will not buy you much in NV gear that is good.

I would wait and get something Gen 2-3 at least.

They will cost 2-3 times what you have in your budget, but they will be worth it.

...there are starlite scopes that might do the trick. they use large lenses to do the light gathering. Large lenses can gather and concentrate light, thus intensifying light with purely optical means and enabling the user to see better in the dark than with naked eye alone...Not NVG per se, but not so hard on the eyes for prolonged periods of time, and doesn't rob you of much depth perception either.

Just don't forget the atropine eyedrops!:icon_biggrin:
