would like to get the green stock, either w/ or without a heavier buffer (somthing better than what came on the base PTR91) as long as the price is right. ive searched the net but i cant seem to find the buffers anywhere anymore. BT low scope mount anycheaper than DSA would be cool too:thumbup:

Heavy buffers can still be had... Start at $110 or so. Takes modified production stock metal to accept the buffer and line up the screws. good new is they fit in a standard G3/HK91 buttstock without modification. That's not a cheap combo your'e wishing for... (I just put one together myself)... Total in just the stock set up is over $250.. .. If you want, I'll give you the sites... The real HK stuf is out of site price wise and people are even getting picky on hk date codes and mod #. Heck.. I just want it to shoot better...

Mofocus,
I still think that there may be something going on with your rifle, My CETME and both G3 clones shoot VERY smooth with slight recoil for a 308. I even get the girls to shoot it without complaint. They don't like the AK, but they love my G3s.

i dont know rusty, you are probably right, but i think its more me than the rifle. i just thought i would give the other stuff a try and if theres no difference i dont see why i couldnt sell it and make my money back on it. i cant imagine a like new PTR having a problem though.

You know, I think the PTR91 come with what they call their "Comfort Buffer" I have HK91 and CETME's They have a kick. But not worse than an M14 or an M1 Garand IMOH... I shoot all of them. What kind of ammo you shooting? If it's 147 NATO 7.62X51, it should'nt be that bad. (Tho on my HK91 with the Hensoldt scope and claw mount, you best watch your eyebrow. Did you get one of the ban year models without a muzzle device?

For the heavy buffer, try emailing Adam Weber at www.hkparts.net (http://www.hkparts.net). He has two. Not listed on the site. I spoke with him a few weeks ago. Or, I'd check the function of the rifle 1st... You might want to remove the buffer and examine it. Also consider checking if you do have a PTR comfort buffer. (There are a lot of shooter that have a problem with the recoil), I have seen a number of persons happy after changing to the PTR comfort buffer. That sells for about $45 dollar range. Much cheaper than the heavy buffer or other HK large buffer products that will require new metal and stock mod. Here's a Pic of the choices of HK buffers. Hope this helps.
