CETME/FAL G1 Handguard?

After installing the CETME metal handguard/bipod I can't help but realize it gives the CETME an almost FAL G1 look, often mentioned here on the forums.

Has anyone tried modifying a G1 handguard with bipod onto their CETME. Planning showed some of his custom CETME's using the polymer FAL handguards made by Tapco(?), so kind of curious what the CETME would look like with the G1 handguard.

And if you look at the two bipods close, the STG-58 and the Model "B" they look almost the same. Not sure about the handguards.

I think Planning has a Cetme with a FAL front guard, seems like it was a US made part.

my G3 ( black furnature)and the CETME ( green furnature).
with FAL handguards ( TAPCO) that were modified.
they are very comfortable to use.
