well, ive been noticing there is a huge quantity of 8mm and .308 out there for sale, many of these people have MASSIVE quantities, and it looks like they just bought it for the sake of resale, i cant believe people are getting 4-650 dollars for a 980 rd can of south african! you could go buy commercial ammo cheaper in some cases! yes i realize it may be thin brass but WOW
i think there is some major panic buying and hoarding and price gouging going on!

Kevin as planning said, those who panic are paying, those that stocked up are doing ok, just why buy when its high.

i bought one can of SA when planning said to, and 5 cases of 54r when he said to, right after i bought both, most places were supposedly out
Unfortunately i wasnt on here when he told us about the 8mm, so im completely out, and not really wanting to buy any but ive got a few new 8mm rifles i sure would like to try out. Ive got bullets and brass, but no powder or reloading stuff, but its sure tempting to get into reloading at least for 8mm. I just dont have any experience reloading, closest thing to it is my blackpowder deer rifle
i think all the people panicing and paying for it are showing the ammo companies people will pay any price for the ammo. I sure hope people stop the panic buying soon so the price will come down.

I only got one can of sa too. plus a dozen or so battle packs, in addition to some argentine, austrailan, austrian, and various other south americans, and portugeese. I just need to find time away from working to ever get out and shoot.

austrailian!!!!!!! those were the good ole days!!!
i loved that stuff, after 10 rounds my barrel was HOT though, i think it was loaded hotter, however that was the most accurate ammo in my cetme by far. I know one guy who still has it for 8 dollars per 20 though, which now isnt a bad price, but ive allready got SA

Now is the time to buy ammo that is still reasonably priced...it ain't going to get any cheaper imho at least in the immediate future.. I have controlled my urges for over a year and have purchased primarily ammo and components...$70 for a SA battlepack..yeah right!

I bought some 8mm even though I didn't really want any. But if you have the gun you need the bang. I choked last year paying $250 for a full case of SA, I'm glad now that I did. I bought 3 cases of 7.62 by 54R last year because it was so cheap. I wasn't being prudent, I just got lucky. SG is selling 100 rnds of 223 for about $50 now. I'm not big into that round, I bought a mini-14 because the ammo is available anywhere. I have enough reloaded to take care of my needs.
I think reloading components might go up next. Guess I'll start buying primers, bullets, etc.

Thats why I got my self a 223 ak too, plus the other rifles, if the soviet 7.62x39 gets too bad there always be the us made ammo.
