Yes. There should be plenty of posts and a stickie or two about just how to do it.

CAUTION the reason the CAI receivers dont have the paddle mag release is the BATFE. With the relocated mag release, there is no way to install and use a full auto/select fire trigger group ( in the BATFE's logic) as the mag release is in the way. Replacing it with a paddle release as it was originally designed with, may cause you to run afoul of their skewed logic... Remember these are the same people who have made it illegal to make a full fledged RIFLE complete with a permanent buttstock and full length 16 inch plus length barrel out of a pistol...

Not quite, they don't have a problem with the release, just the hole that normally is there to facilitate installing a full auto trigger group. Just put the mag relase in the and weld up each side your golden. And I'm pretty sure you can make a rifle out of a pistol, not the other way round, think of a Thompson Contender, a pistol that you can add a carbine kit to.

hole no bigger than 1/8 and goes only through the right side of the receiver and you are good.

I know this is an old post but I was reading through the Cetme/hk FAQs and found this post from texlurch, two of the links are dead but two of them still work:
Here are some options for installing the paddle.
There is a copy of the BATF letter in the first link (thanks Perro)

I saved the step by step from a G3 build on the Falfiles; here is a link to a cleaned up copy I made..

Basically, you cannot drill a hole larger than 1/8 inch, and it cannot go thru both sides of the trunnion, and has to be welded shut after the pin is installed.
An old mig welder brass tip fits inside the paddle perfectly, just have to ream out to fit the 1/8th inch pin.
One last note; do all your trigger frame and pack fitting to the receiver FIRST, before you drill the hole. Make sure you have everything sitting high enough in the receiver for the ejector to work. The paddle install should be one of the last things you do, maybe even best if you do it after test firing. Plus, if you drill the hole off, the paddle won't actuate the mag release correctly and you are stuck with it.
