Hey guys,
Sometime down the road I would like to replace my cetme barrel. There is nothing wrong with the one I currently have, but I would just like to get one that is a little thicker and would be more accurate. I'm not really looking for a high priced match grade barrel, but I would like something that is a pretty decent upgrade from the standard cetme barrel. Any suggestions? :2pistol:

Rapid fire shows heavy barrels on their website (hammer forged HBAR for $200) maybe someone here has experience with these and PTR91 may still have target barrels available IIRC mine was around $200 a year or so ago.

Thanks for the suggestion. Those are not bad options. Looking around though, I think I found what I really want, a SR9 barrel. They are shorter than a psg-1 and even msg-90 barrel I think, but still supposed to be very accurate. Good luck to me on finding one though. :wallbash:

Jay, guy I Gunbroker using the handle Jeff11 is selling the front of clean CETME kits with new barrels in the white for $85.00, I've bought from him. He a good guy!! He has 5 or six listed now in a dutch auction. Just do a search by seller's name for "jeff11".

Thank you for the info, but I have a standard Cetme barrel that is fine already. I am just looking to upgrade a bit.

You can't get any better than a Santa Barbara barrel (They made the CETME's) in the white. Unless your'e thinking about going to a fluted or bull barrel like on some of the Special JLD's, PTR bought the company because most of the HK crowd wanted to stick to HK specs and would'nt buy that rifle with that barrel configuration. Thou the JLD match barrel was one hell of a barrel. But then you have to use a new triple rail, trunion, bolt, I think you'd have to change the cocking tube and bolt carrier too.... There really is'nt any upgrade unless you have someone make a custom barrel...
That's what I was told right from JLD PTR91 Inc... I bought a trunion from them for their bull barrel. They said it required the HK bolt head and their special triple rail. It's not the same specs as a CETME.
