Has anyone here had to add some weld to the rear of their ejector lever? My lever still doesn't go far enough up into the slot in the bolt head to eject the round. My trigger pack is shimmed up to where it's supposed to be and I don't have any binding of anything. So, I plan on welding a bead on the rear end of ejector lever and then filing it back down until it works. I was just wondering if this kind of a fix was a common occurrence. My Cetme is a Century, btw.

This fix has been used in the past, but only as a last resort.
It sounds like you have done what can be done.
Keep in mind that the welded material will not be case hardened like the ejector was originaly. Keep an eye on it as time goes on to see if it is wearing too much.

Is this from excessive wear to the ejection lever?

If you want to try another ejection lever, PM me and I'll send you one.

Same issue with my stamped receiver CETME.
Added an ugly blob of weld to the end of the ejector, filed it down and probably have 500 rounds or so down with tube without an issue.
Thanks,

Mine rode low at first. It appeared the ejector portion that rides in the groove had been filed (as evidenced by file marks). I bought a new G3 ejector because it was easier to get and it solved the issues. I would try a new one first. If not, the weld and filing method sounds like a decent alternative.

I don't think so..
More to do with out of spec receivers being too tall and the bolt carrier group riding too high.
In the old days Century would heat up the ejectors and bend them to correct the ride hight, but some people replaced the bent ejectors with stock ones and worked more on shimming the lower receivers to bring everything up to where it should be. If the shimming does not fix it, then most likely the recevier is too tall.
This diagram shows how a relatively small deviation in the "roundness" of the receiver can effect the hight of the trigger group:

Thanks for the offer SSwee. My lever is a brand new one from Apex. I think I have my problem fixed now. The bottom of my lower housing was bent upward like someone had done some prying on it. I straightened it out and rewelded the shelf back in. Now when I chamber a spent shell I can eject it about 12 feet by manually racking the bolt. Tomorrow it's a trip to the range for a function test

I had to build up the lever on my second one to get it to run right. I was going to replace it with a new one and just haven't gotten around to it because it still works fine....Perhaps I'll see how long it will go without a problem.
If someone were to absolutely have to effect a weld on one because of lack of availability of parts using some hard-facing rod would probably be the best option. It is a real booger to dress it down though....You just seem to grind and grind some more trying to remove the material.

Rusty hit the nail on the head, most of the time it's because the receiver is too tall and/or the denial shelf and FCG shelf are not lined up properly. I've noticed varying locations for the denial shelves...Like they just decided on each rifle where they thought it should be. More corner cutting.... Tweeking the receiver back down to the right height and width will just about always solve it, not always but just about.

Just got back from the range. My problem is solved. I put 80 rounds through the gun with no problems so I won't need to weld the ejector lever.

Had to weld on mine at the rear, after comparing all kinds of measurements w/other people on here.Works fine now.My prob started when I switched to a HK trigger group from RTG,ejector wasnt even touching the case at all.I even ground some offf the side of the original Cetme egector and it worked so so(sharper bend).Even shimmed up trigger pack w/no help.Adding material may seem like a last measure to some but looking back I wish I had done it sooner.
