Depends on what you want. Settle on that first and we can help. I use the Magpul rear buis. I like it. The front sight being plastic would shy me away from putting it on though. Budget? $30 or so for each if you buy UTG, $200 or so if you go with.....I can't recall, never looked at them that long.

budget is probably about 100 I agree with u on shying away from plastic. But I want. Something that's good but is not going to break the bank. I'm new to the ar world so idk

FWIW the magpulls are a great buy. Being plastic they are actually super durable, i only have those as what they are.. Backup sights

No direct experience so one of these guys can help more. My Magpul rear sight is perfect!! I have a regular tower front so no buis. I think MAGPUL tells you NOT to mount the front BUIS to the gas block. If you have the monolithic rail it would be fine, otherwise a metallic one is needed. Fun rifle to shoot for sure.

Comments on plastic, I have read, is that on the gas block there is a problem with heat, but they should hold up on the receiver. That said, I haven't tried any on my flat top 556 sig or the ar's.

Congrats FF,I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase. I bought a RRA LAR8 mjd length A4 two weeks ago. I put a Burris QD PEPR mount on it, slid in a 3-9x I had lying around. The mount has mini rails on the tube caps so I bought a PA green dot for up top. I am a bit put off by the mount though, I have never had to adjust a scope that far left that is sitting on top of the receiver. Haven't had time to dial in the green dot but it fits the application perfectly and PA sells quality sights.
I was going to get the M1A socom but when I picked it up the balance was WAY off, too front heavy, The RRA handles like a .223!

You said your DPMS has a flat top receiver...does it have a standard front sight base gas block (triangle shaped gas block with a front sight post), or is it a railed or low profile gas block? Also, what type of forearm does it have...the standard handguards with heat shields or is it a railed free floating tube?
There are two different types of sights you can get. 1-Front and rear flip up sights. These are usually referred to as back up sights. 2-Front and rear non-flip up sights. The flip up sights have any advantage as they fold down to accommodate some type of scope mount. I prefer the flip up sights. All these sights are constructed of either a type of polymer or metal. Of the polymer flip up sights the three best that I've heard of are Magpul Gen2, Command Arms, or ARMs. For the metal sights, the best I've heard of are Troy battle sights, Midwest Industries, or YHM. The polymer sights will run you about $100 for the set, while the metal sights run upwards of $200-250.
The main thing to keep in mind for the front sight, you SHOULDN'T...I'll say again...you SHOULDN'T...mount a polymer front sight on the gas block due to the heat build up. I haven't heard of them outright melting, but I know it will warp. The polymer front flip up sights are designed to mount on the rail of a forearm.
The sights I listed aren't the only sights available...I left out the cheap crap like UTG. Good luck and happy shooting!!!

While it's possible to have a bad PEPR mount, don't outright blame the mount for your scope adjustment issue. Most of the higher production AR manufacturers don't square the receiver to the barrel. It's usually a special option only done on request. If you do suspect the PEPR mount and want to replace it, looking into getting the High Rise Cantilever Scope Mount from RRA. I've tried both and I like the RRA's mount better than the PEPR mount.
