Thought about Kentucky? First time visit this past April. Land prices are cheap even on Cumberland lake. Independent minded folks there. You can't go wrong in TN though. Good luck.

Buying land in BFE, is always cheap if you can find it, but comes with some drawbacks, if you hear strumming on the banjos, watch out. :)

Actually though there are parts here you dont want to be in the woods, due to being so far out, they drug dealers, either grown pot, or cooking meth or still some moon shine going on here too(less meth due to the crack down on the feed chemicals and drugs though here inoklahoma)

"30-70 acres for my own private 600 meter rifle range...and yes I will invite friends"

Cool, man! You'll love it....beats the hiznel outta Virginia.

"there are parts here you dont want to be in the woods"
--You can find that growing anywhere in IN, TN, KY...especially KY. KY operations are serious biz, I worked on a house that some pot growers dynamited....thru the chimney. Blew the front two rooms out onto the lawn of the place. The ppl having us work on refurbing it told us not to wander down the road...guys w/guns and booby traps....bad news.

In the nat'l forest in IN, you can find it growing in the woods, growers wrap chickenwire about 10 ft hi around trees to keep deer of it. When you see it (it pretty distinct and doesn't match the other plants) you just back away &go the othr way...like when you cross a bear.

yeah, in TN if yer not a revinooer, you're OK. and if you got a few nice rifles, you'll ber a good ole boy soon!

made an offer on a 66 acre farm in Dickson County

close to 600 meters with a barn and a small home

Dipping into retirement savings to get it but it will be worth it when we retire

and I can outgun most drug dealers, especially with Unca Perro's M1919A4 and BREN:airtight:

I wonder about that, I went to a sheriffs auction here and they had almost three hundred firearms that they siesed from various and sundry folks. Bunches of them were demilled as they were sbr of sorts, illegally.

I alas only took ten of them home. :)

Just waiting for the financing to come through

evidently most lenders don't like fiunancing land

but we've been saving for a while and our credit is solid

it will be a great home
