I recently acquired a US Model 1917 (called a P17 Enfield by some) made by Winchester. The SN dates it to Jan 1918. It has been re-arsenaled so it has some Eddystone and Remington parts but the Receiver and bolt are both Winchester. I was looking for a Winchester because my great Uncle, John Otterson was president of Winchester at that time. The Barrel is a two groove Johnson Automatic which was a WWII replacement. I took it to the range last weekend and after I figured out that it shoots about four inches high at 100 yards I was able to get three inch groups at that distance.

It is often said that these things have less recoil than and '03 but it seems about the same as my 03A3. I actually prefer my 03A3 as it handles and fits me better. I also found a 1918 Remington Bayonet and a replica of the Kerr sling to go with it. Photos are below.

I must have hit the wrong button, that rifle is my pick of the litter
in your bolt gun post. I like the 03's and the 17's, nice rifle.
