What do you do when your kids have moved out and your gun collection outgrows the closet? I know, I know, kids move out you say. Well it does happen and here's what I did. I do have one problem though.

Japanese and Russians with a couple who escaped from behind the Iron Curtain.

4 generations of Brits, French, Swiss, Austrian and an Italian.

Turks, Czechs, Germans, Chinese just to name a few. Oh and a couple of draft dodgers off to the side.

A few British old timers and a couple of "Yanks" behind them. Of course Pistols and ammo from all around are in the cabinets.

Now does anyone see my problem?

Yup it's filling up, time to move to the room at the other end of the hall

"Yup it's filling up, time to move to the room at the other end of the hall "

NO! don't move to the room at the end of the hall. just stay where you are and add more safes to the room at the end of the ahll. IMHO

1. Hope the room is on a slab.
2. Hope it is insured well.
3. Hope you don't have CRS or you might forget where you put so and so.....
4. Hope you realize you have a problem............but it is a good problem to have.
5. When you stuff items in a box you know you need more storage.
6. You are in dire need of some wall mounted racks.........and some OD green paint!
7. Hope the kids don't want to move back................

All the above is for fun and complimentary in nature. Honestly I feel I might forget something having so many of one kind. Just last night I loaded 16 rounds of 30-06 for the Garand and for the life of me could not find #16. I thought it got lost where I was loading the enblocs. I load in the man-cave/basement and the rifle was and accessories are upstairs for the moment. I tossed the room, no luck. I gathered my thoughts, mentally re-traced my steps and found #16 still sitting in the shell holder in my Lee Press. 45 years old is too young for CRS isn't it?

No, CRS can start much earlier than that.

One benefit of having an adult child at home is being able to say "Hey, Buddy. Do you see a "fill in the blank" in the gun room?"

Thanks,

I don't see a problem, just plenty of room for more lockers, ammo and accessories. When I joined this forum my collection looked like that, now I am in four rooms of the house and keep running across guns in the six lockers, three safes and two gun cabinets. Plus the ammo and accessories.
