i had one of those tripods and it about gave me a hernia just lifting the tripod - forget about the 50 pounds of maxim on top of that

I hauled around an MG3 (Nato caliber MG42) while on temporaty duty with the Budeswehr in 1963. That was heavy enough. That Maxim must be a real load.

Those Finns were real tough winter warriors. They really kicked some commie butt. The Russians had a real bad time with them.
