Can't really tell if it has a mag or not, it could be one of the .308 Garands.
I'd like to have it whatever it is.

I found it looking for pictures of Saddam,.. Somebody had posted it to bitch on how slanted CNN is.. I first I thought Garand, but then I looked at the gas tube and something is not right. It must be a Ex Italian Garand clone or BM 59 left behind in Lybia or Lebanon. It looks like there may be a mag well behind the dudes thumb. I hate to see that rifle used by them. I think those were the only people who bought them other than Italy. Did you know a BM 59 showed up at the Pine Ridge Wounded Knee standoff in 1971. The FBI never could figure out how millitant Indians got a very rare rifle like that in that time frame. I am sure you may have seen the photo of the Indian millitant holding the F/A AK 47 aloft. Well they had a select fire BM 59 in their stash
