Sounds like a good price to me. Is it a Colt upper? did it come with the bolt? If so you did good.

I built a retro colt a1 on a nodak lower from the kits that were at Sarco. It really turned out great.

Sounds like you got a good deal, I would like to put together a 20" A1. It makes me want to kick myself because that is one of the many that I had and let go of over the years.

Did you buy this kit from someone who has more for sale? I bet I'm not the only one who would probably buy a set of parts like this. 5 years ago I paid almost that much for an upper without the bcg and stock.

Retro M16 kits - Looks like the kits are starting to dry up. Apparently Sarco is out of them, but they do have the A2 kit.

Ya thats why I jumped on this while I can. Great pics by the way can't wait to get it put together. And no theres not more but ill keep my eye out for more now that I know more people are looking. I just love the style of the old colt m16 just something about it says bad ass.

Get a nice A1 type of receiver and lower parts kit and you will be set.

GTTY, nice 603 M16A1! Love it. As for Nodak, get one of their Blem receivers, if possible. save $30 bucks and shipping. I have gotten a 601 slickside blem, and partial fence 603 XM16E1 blem, and could not tell why they were blems! Mike (NDS) is out of M16A1 lowers at the moment, but is taking back orders. should be within a week or so. If it is a 1/7 pencil barrel with A1 upper, it is fairly scarce. 99% of A1s were 1/12. An M16A1 with a 1/7 would be awesome. 77 Grain Mk 262 Mod1 OTBT is a smoking round!

The barrel is not a pencil barrel but as long as your happy its all that matters great deal btw.

The barrel you have is a a2 barrel the pencil barrel was even thinner then that.

SWEET! That would be a great barrel for a Model 606 Heavy barrel AR with an M-14 bipod!

If you want a pencil barrel still, you could easily sell that A1 HBAR on the Retro A-15 M16 forum on ARFcom.
