I am doing some experiments with some muzzle brakes of my own design to be used on my 50BMG when its finished First I am making a smaller version to fit on my Ar-15 varmint gun that is threaded. I looked around and saw that a 1/2 X 28 tap is used for the brakes is this correct? I couldn't see inside the brake well enough with the pitch gauge at the shop to tell and my rifle is somewhere else right now and I can't find my gauge here at home :bash:

I'm also doing some experiments with offset brakes due to some differences on theories one of my instructors and I have on how a offset brake would effect accuracy.

The AR brakes and barrels are threaded 1/2-28. You are correct.
