Topic: WTK: Entreprise Arms FAL Para
Have a chance to pick up an Entreprise Arms FAL Para.
Low round count (less than 600 rounds), no FTF / FTE issues and in fairly good shape.
Not much on these when I used the search function. What are the pros and cons on Entreprise Paras?
What is a fair price for one of these?
Thanks,
Hoover

I have bought a couple of Entreprise rifles in the past. Never again. Their warranty sucks. Their customer service sucks even worse - IMHO the worst in the industry. Some of their work/materials are questionable, and there's been some "issues" with their complaince parts in the past. I'd buy a used century before I buy an entreprise again. Do a quick search on them @ FAL Files for the real picture. And Caveat Emptor.

Thanks for the feedback.

if it runs and is priced right grab it. they have made good rifles but they are hit and miss. most fixes can be done at home.

I have an Entreprise FAL and have had zero problems or complaints with it, I have heard of all kinds of problems with Enterprise FALs.
I think it was mentioned here before that you have to look at the spelling of the name on the receiver and that they were actually two different companies and I believe that the problem company isn't still in business.
Entreprise with a "tre" is good to go, and
Enterprise with a "ter" is the problematic receiver.

Beg to differ gents, both of my Entreprise FALs were from the "re" company based in Irwindale CA. Out of spec receiver on one, bad casting on the other. One locking shoulder was damaged (on a rifle supposedly only proof fired at the manufacturer). A lot of smiths won't even touch them anymore because of the multitude of problems with them. I've seen their rifles brand new with so much slop between the upper and lower that there's no way it would retain zero - seriously on a $1200 new rifle one wouldn't expect an out of spec receiver and worn out locking plunger. Rear sights that had been hammered into place destroying the spring in the process. Several emails and calls with no returns (and this is on weapons within a year of purchase) and no return call or email - ever. They rate a consitent F on the BBB and consumer complaints sites. The warranty deal is shady - they advertise a lifetime warranty on receivers BUT rifles only get a year and but several folks have claimed when they went to do a warranty claim the company stated the rifle was out of it's year from manufactuer the company wouldn't honor it.
If you can do a good inspection and get it to the range to run some rounds through it then maybe, but I consider them on par with Century - with the exception Centurys cusotmer service will actually talk to you.

Yeah, what he said.
I built a FAL on an Entreprise receiver and I encountered no issues at all. It also shot pretty good. They are so hit and miss that it can't be expressed enough to test fire a few magzines before you buy. Also, at our gun show a few weeks back a guy was selling three Entreprise FALs. One had a very sloppy mag well. The magazine had a good 1/8th inch of side to side play. Another was very difficult to lock the two receivers together, but in all fairness, it could have had new locking parts or a heavy finish on the receivers.

Seems like the Entreprise FAL's are a hit or miss.
Time for me to make a decision.
