View Full Version : My PTR and family (pics)
It took me forever to get the parts on it since I've been storing my firearms at my folks house while I've been busy with the Army but I finally got to come home play with my toys again
Here's my PTR 91 with the new toys installed. I had actually bought one of Gordon Millers vented handgaurds but In all my genius I bought the full sized one where it turns out my rifle is actually the carbine version! Now being a small guy I never would have thought this thing was a carbine...
Anyway I'll have to order the short version of the handgaurd now so look for the vented one I have now to be for sale shortly.
Here's a fuzzy pic of my small collection, Had to use my fathers old camera. Better pics coming in a month when I take them back to Ft.Carson with me.
ALso, excuse the random slings... I seem to have a problem with throwing whatever on my stuff

Drew, your pictures sure were NOT fuzzy on my computer screen. Came out real good. Just wanted to also mention that if you are in the area of Colorado Springs on the last weekend of July, there is a pretty nice gun show up on the North end of Springs. If your are interested and able to attend, let me know and I'll furnish some specifics about the show. Blaster (Bob in So. CO):America:

I've been looking for a good gun show since I've got to the Springs and the first one I hear about happens to be when my block leave is and I'll be back in San Antonio grrr!
I appreciate the heads-up and would greatly appreciate any info on future shows. I've been looking for some places to shoot, I've heard of Dragon Man and thats about it. Far as I've been told they have a 220yd line been hoping to find somewhere to shoot even further out. Any Ideas?

Your 1955 Tula looks A number 1, man I wish I had a SKS like that. I have to say the Russian SKS look the classiest of the whole family. They knew how to blue a weapon.

Appreciate the replies, I really love the SKS, honestly it was my first gun I purchased when I turned 18 several years back and I didn't know what I had until recently.
The wood and finish is in great shape but I'm trying to figure out how to clean the laquer up a little bit without doing anything that would negatively affect the original finish.
Random SKS question- Mine is all matching numbers (no refurb stamp either) and such but my stock is a bit different than others I've seen. It still has the SN stamped on one side but it does not have the Star next to it nor does it have the star on the side of the reciever (Only on the top cover). Instead on the other side of the stock it has a circle around what appears to be a cyrillic character (looks like a T with an oval through it). Any Ideas?
Heh, wrong forum but I figured I'd throw it out there!

Check out the Simonov site they are the Gurus of the SKS world. They have the best stock marking page I have seen. The same goes for their page on stamps and arsenal marks.
