I recently purchased a CETME parts kit with original barrel still attached in the trunion. After careful inspection I notice the bolt has HK 12/64 on it. So I assume this is an HK bolt. So how can you tell if the bolt carrier and trunion are CETME or HK? I know you can't mix CETME & HK bolt & carrier. And I know you can't use HK bolt and carrier on CETME trunion, and vice versa. Any help figuring out what I have would be greatly apreciated. THANKS!!

Most not all HK carriers have the recoil spring tube welded to the carrier. The CETME's were one piece. Thats not really a good sign about the kit.

Notice the weld in the pic.

The bolt carrier says FMP 1/74 on it. And I beleive the tube is weled on.

hopefully that will clear it up for you...

If you could post some pics, it would help as well.

oh and btw, my carrier is welded on my Cetme... I thought it was the other way around that Cetmes are welded and G3's are 1-piece... or maybe they're all welded... can't remember

I'd send some pictures but my computers messed up, so I'm using the computer at my office and it's not setup for my camera. But thanks for the info ,really helped. I have G3 bolt and carrier.

Some Cetme carriers are one piece and not welded and others are two pieces welded together. My original carrier was the welded type, but I replaced the entire bolt assembly and carrier when I heard about some of the stuff century had done and I got a carrier that is not welded.

I could be wrong, but I think some G3 carriers were also made as one unwelded piece. I think they are Rhinemetal carriers or something.

if youve got a G3 bolt and carrier, and a Cetme kit, they don't and can't go together as you mentioned earlier.

I would check closer into the rest of the kit and make sure its not ALL a G3 kit. If its bits and pieces of both, you could part out different pieces of it and pick one to buy. Personally, Id go with the G3 as there are many more compliance parts for it.
