I'm curious to know why the MN M44 carbine has jumped in price...
Low availability?
Popularity?
etc....

I see them now for $200.
I know it's been many years but I remember them being really decent in price...like $80-$100.

They are nice and I like them...thank goodness I got a cpl years ago...lol

They say the warehouses in Europe have just run out of them. I tend to go with that as there was not a endless supply and it had to happen sooner or later. Also they were/are popular
making for a higher demand. I also don't think they made them all that many years (starting production in 1944), compared to the very long production run in the long guns.
Yea, I bought a couple for $80.00 or so back then and wish I had bought more. They are now around $200.00 here.

i quit selling them a month ago. the prices just keep going up. when the wholesalers get a few of the M-44's they sell out in a few days, sometimes in a few hours.

i figure there are a lot more in europe, the U.S. dollar does not make it worth the effort to buy them and ship them here to sell.

i figure the price on the M-44 will be up to $250 to $300 before the year is over. i have seen the M-38's for over $300 already.

you can still get the 91/30's for around $100, so it is still the best buy for now.

supply and demand - no supply and high demand = big price tag

someday when they are fetching $300 - $400 i wonder if bubba will regret hacking on his $69.00 big 5 special M44? i cant tell you how many times ive heard
"But the gun cost $69 and besides, there are MILLIONS of them in Russia" - eventually everything runs out and price goes up

No surprise they remain popular, nice handy carbine and a powerful cartridge. Only a matter of time before some professional hack company starts making "m91 tankers" which would be? yep, an m38 or m44

ha...that's right perro...I cut off the bayonet and lug on one to try and mock up a scout/hunter/truck gun but it was the least desirable of the 3 I have.

none of the others' will be touched...that's for sure.
I had planned to get several more but fund's never worked out right. lol

I don't ever see prices getting close to U.S. guns, but they will no doubt keep going up. Didn't some here once say they had bought some for 25 or 35 bucks 30 years ago. We'll never see those prices again. Just glad I got mine when I did. To bad it won't hit the broad side of a barn with iron sights(shoots about a foot high and 18 inches to the left at 50 yards). Scoped it and it shoots great.
