I think that these parts are from Armscor in the Phillipines. Those are the same folks who built my 1911 in my other post. I would not expect any issues with the investment castings. Ruger has beem making guns that way for years and the are plenty rugged.

I have had several and could find noting wrong with them. However, you might want to look at Sarco's web sight as they always have frames for around the same money and most are American made. Go to www.sarcoinc.com and have fun nice people to deal with.

I am sure you can have problems with forgeings and castings both. It takes good quality control to ensure proper production with either. Ruger has been using investment castings since they develped the p series of pistols.

Ruger has actually gotten to be so good at investment casting that they nowhave a division that does custom invenstment casting for other companies on a contract basis.

I remember when ruger started the investment casting division, they set up in arizona, Now with the decline of the traditional gun makers in the east, it is intesting that ruger has a large industrial base, not only with their own work but doing work for others too. Once you have the equipment to make the wax molds, you can make almost anything.

I have shot a complete Double Star .45 and it was a very nicely made pistol. Fit and function are great, my only complaint is that they look a little Blaa.
You can also get frames from www.centerfiresystems.com
