I lived in Fargo for a little under a year. I went to NDSU for a semester. It wasnt such a bad place to live if you don't mind wind, flat ground, and wind.

I work in Fargo and live in Grand Forks (for the time being). We're planning to move to Fargo in a month or two (the drive everday sucks).
It's good to see some neighbors!
Cheers,

Definitely. We do all of our shooting over on my friend's property. He lives about ~10miles outside of Grand Forks, lots of land, no range fees, and none of that "one round at a time" BS. :) We shoot all sorts of toys -- milsurps, handguns, shotties, blackpowder, machineguns... you name it, we shoot it. I've no doubt you'd fit right in. :)
I've got a new handgun coming in the next day or two, so I'm sure we'll be arranging another shooting day soon. Saturday's supposed to be gorgeous. If you feel like shooting, send me a PM and I'll check with my friend to make sure he'll be around.
There's never enough time in a year to do all the shooting we want to do. :)
Cheers,
~ Greg ~
The snow you folks don't get dropped on you falls on us here in Minnesota. I still have a pile at the foot of my yard about 4 feet high. Ground is still froze a few inches down, so where it is clear, it's fragile.
If we ever wind up hosting an upper Midwest forum get together. Somewhere where we can shoot what we want as much as we want, I'd come for a weekender. Better yet, if someone could "put me up" a couple of nights. I'm willing to drive to ND, SD, NE, IA or WI.
I love the range that's 10 minutes from my house, but we're limited to a maximum of 100 yards and hung paper only. No F.A. as a matter of our conditional use permit and a meaningful pause between every six rounds rapid fire. It's as good as it gets around here without driving 2 hours up north and then you have to watch out for ATV'ers and during season, hunters.

We shoot whatever we want, however we want, and as often as we want. That's one of the benefits of shooting on private property. We generally shoot for several hours (Tannerites are always a big hit), then we wind down with several beers. We're responsible gun owners, but we know how to have a good time. :)

I'll let you know when I can make it up there. My son would have to come too and he'd need to make work arrangements. Sounds like my dad's range in OK. Anything goes as long as safety comes first. We'd have to stay overnite though are there any Super 8 motels around? My wife works at one and gets good rates.

I'm not sure if there's a Super 8 around here, but at the very least there's plenty of other similar places. Give me a shout sometime and I can check it out to be certain.

I'll let you know as soon as we're able to decide for sure. Hopefully it'll warmup and dry up some more soon. I've gotta plan on getting some more ammo too for the Cetme andmy son's Yugo UF. I've got plenty .45 plinking ammo. And I definitely want some tannerite!
I've also got some .38 to use up if anyone's got one or a .357.
I'm from the Minot area, I head off to the Fargo area every couple months for a weekend though. Always looking for people to go shooting with. :2pistol:

Do you ever come to the MRPC?http://www.minotrifleandpistol.com/ I am a member and shoot USPSA, I plan to shoot some 3 gun this year, if the weather will straighten out. We are holding the USPSA state handgun championships in July.

I don't make it to the western part of the state very often... and it's usually as I'm driving through to Seattle (hometown).
Let me know if you ever head out this way and we'll do some blastin!
~ Greg ~
I live just east of Surrey so quite close to you. I make it to the MRPC every now and then not too often though, usually shoot on some private land out here.

Doesnt look like we will be doing anything here in Minot for at least a month, other than water sports. The outlook is quite grim. :icon_sad:

We are around 16 feet higher than the most recent crest predictions. No evacuations for us, but almost all of our friends may lose their homes.

Yup, can't do much more for anyone else now, but if you do know anyone that needs an extra hand in some way or another let me know.

Took the Ramcharger down to Burdick to take a look at the water, I estimate it was about 100 yards from the turn into our neighborhood two blocks away. We will see tomorrow.

Now to wait for the water to go down. The only way into town takes around 3 hours, unless we head to Surrey. I shure want to get out and blow off some steam.
well I live just east of Surrey I'm sure if you'd like we could set up a time to do some shooting within the next week or two if you like. got some friends with a place out by Sundre sand and gravel that have a nice place to shoot too.
