Honest opinions guys, does this camp gun look dorky with the red dot sight on it or is it just the beer I have been drinking tonite?
It shoots just as good with the iron sights(really they are plastic) as it does with the red dot sight.
I can't make up my mind so I thought I'd get a second or 3rd opinion.

personally, if it can atleast blow the head off of a squirrel i tend to vote "not dorky"

i like it. seems practical for a short range gun such as that

Actually, it goes pretty well with the Choate folding stock. Kinda tactical, ya' know.

Take that picture again with a scantily clad woman (good looking of course) and see what kind of responses you get then

Hey, it works 4 me! As long as it works, What the heck. I have a couple of the BSA red dots and they work good.

Well the chote cost far more than the BSA red dot, thus if I have a folder on the mini, and a cheap red dot on the highpoint carbine, you are allowed too. :)

Everyone needs a Tacticool rifle and that one looks to be well done. So not dorky. I like Red Dots... Soo much I bought and EOTech 551 and they really do what they are advertised to do. Get on target FAST!!

Well to tell you the truth I do think it looks dorky. But the 6-24 by 50 scope on my mini-14 probly looks dorky too, but man it sure does shoot good. So you gota ask yourself, "Whats more important, the way it looks , or the way it functions." For me its function. So if it works good what the hell.
:2pistol:
To my eye, the only thing that looks out of place is the folding stock. If that had a fixed stock, it'd look nice.

Not dorkie. You guys ever see the old picture of the soldier with a M1 carbine with the Buick headlight and infra-red scope? That was done on purpose and that counts as dorkie(dookie) That rig weighed twice as much as the rifle. IMHO.

The red dot looks fine, but the stock doesn't quite do it for me. But if you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

Do you have a "Before" pic for comparison?
The rifle looks OK.......but the fart fan is disturbing.

The fartfan is most needed.

Just remember to keep the rifle perpendicular when shooting or else it could be a considered "PIMP GUN aka ghetto shooter"

Pig Pen, I think it looks good but the most important thing is if the combo works well for you.
Is that a Camp 9 or Camp 45? I have a Camp 45 with the same stock and I love it.
What mount did you use? I have been playing with the idea of putting optics on mine but I haven't looked into mounts yet. I know mine is very accurate useing the irons at 25 and 50 yards. I have never tried to shoot it at any longer distance.

On using the red dot, the large optic and great contrast make finding the target and putting the dot on it easy for sure. Maybe not driving tacks but to hit paper plate sized targets quickly its a great tool. Remember this is not a tack driving rifle, just a longer range reach out and touch some pistol really.

It is a cmap 9 & if I remember correctly it is weaver mount I got a wal-mart. I love that I can use the sw59 type mags in it. I got a whole bunch from CTD a while back and they feed pretty good

I know I love my Camp 45 and the fact that all of my 1911 mags work with it. Now I just need to get one of those drum mags for it!

Don't they make larger cap mags for 1911's? I think them drums are real xpensive.

Not dorky, but nice! Anybody who can pimp out a basic gun has my respect and admiration!
