I cannot think it will be easy to control without the longer grip, but I have two double stacking 1911 variants, but both full size. If you want the heaver projectiles in a small package this is it though.

its very easy to control i couldn't believe it. i think the barrel is so short that it doesn't have time to build up pressure to give it bad muzzel climb.
