If you have problems, post them here.

If you have suggestions...you can PM them, but it will be awhile before I can get to them.

When I log in, and go back to the main page, it shows me in the "users online" on the left. However, it doesn't show me logged in, in the upper right corner. It still has the "username, password" in the upper right and in the middle on top (the two diffferent places you can log in). When I go into a post, it shows me loogged in, in the upper right corner and I can post. Because I'm not "logged in" on the main page, I can't click "new posts". I've tried on three different computers to no avail.

Are you guys denying HTTP GET requests from proxy servers? I tried connecting through my work proxy server and wasn't able to connect, I also tried a different proxy from home to see if work was the one blocking it and got the same thing. I am going to do some more checking on my end to see if it's just me or not.

Hi, M1:

I'm trying to upload a custom avatar, 80x72pixels 2kb..seems small enough to upload. Tried JPG and BMP, but I get an "Upload Failed" msg every time.

Thanks.

Steely.

I see the avatar, even tho it said "Upload failed." go figure.

This isn't a "problem", but I think we need the "For Sale" forum to be "For Sale or Trade" and or "WTS/WTT/WTB"

Can we have a fixed rank that won't change? It's not about the post count. While I don't think every one should be a general, I would think some folks would be happy with a set rank... the Army ranks are a nice touch.

Or better yet, set a donation schedule for fixed ranks. Like 5.00 for each E-grade, 10.00 for each O-grade... Just a thought.

I still have problems coming to the site after I have it save my login information. Once I click on a post though it will show me logged in. What I don't understand is ONLY the main page shows that I'm logged in on the user list on the left but doesn't give me the toolbar as if I was logged in.

In all of the forums I belong to, every time you start or reply to a post, you are subscribed to it.

You can go to your prefs and turn that on. I don't have mine turned on, cuz it bugs me. . . .

User CP > Options > Default subscription mode

Chris, I was wondering if the latency setting if you are inactive, sometimes it resets while I am on line. I sometimes get logged off the board while composing replys.

Okie, I have it set for like 15 minutes.

Weasel, try now.

I guess I will try to be less verbose or research more before trying to post replies, thanks.

Chris, not sure, maybe just twenty or so, I guess I spend too much time and I imagine its due to my dial up and the way I navigate thru the fourm too. Lots of refreshes and such.

Thanks

Request a "Marketplace Discussion Forum" since nobody can talk in any sales threads.

A place to discuss the stuff currently in the marketplace.

You are more then welcome to start any discussion in the general discussion or the firearms areas pertaining to an item you see for sale as long as it follows the rules of the forum. How do you envision a "Marketplace Discussion Forum"? I thought the above 2 areas covered.

The For Sale is for people to buy and sale items, not for people to say how cool it is, or how much they like the seller nor is it for bashing a sellers product or price. We have an iTrader to cover buyer/seller feedback in a tangible and professional way.

I'm not saying no, but I would like to know why we need it in addition to what we have before I create such a thing.

I personally do not see a problem with constructive or positive comments on sales threads.

I do not like iTrader. It seems 'unfriendly' to me. Not much human element there.

I prefer the old ways of the feedback thread.

"Planning is good to do business with"

"I've bought from M1 Tanker many times. His packages are always well done, blah blah"

As far as trolling or negative remarks, those can (and do) happen in regular forum topics, as well.

That was your original question. My answer was, to ask a question in return.

How do you envision a "Marketplace Discussion Forum"?

You didn't answer my question, but instead posted how you do not like the current system.

I do have a problem with people posting in for sale thread. It is not what the for sale forum is for and discussion dilutes the original intent, to buy/sell a product.

The iTrader system has several features which I feel are very user friendly:

1. It keeps a running tally of positive/neutral/negative transactions without a need to search hundreds of threads.

2. It provides a place to put a link to the original deal.

3. It provides room for a quick comment.

4. It provides room to write paragraphs for a detailed description.

iTraders stays.

Again, I didn't say no. I am asking for an answer to my question though. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I don't think we should allow discussion in a for sale forum. Thats what the rest of the forum is for.

AT least Tanker is willing to allow posts in the general forum, there are some boards that are nowhere near as friendly when it comes to their rules. I generally don't post very much on those boards. We have a very comfortable place here...

I like the i trader rating, it make sense. If you have done some buying, selling or Horse trading with a Member and he has done right or wrong. You can let the other board member know this guy is a good Joe. Or if not you can say so. I know you could have a member abuse it by posting a negitive rating due to a minor problem. But all in all we have a great group here and if someone does post a negative rating you can allways PM them to ask for the straight dope
The cool thing about this board is we have a groups that has all sorts of firearms interests. Who in general try to help each other find parts or firearms we need.
Also I want to say this is the best board I have ever been on( this counts as the old CETME board as well) On other boards I have been flamed for spelling errors or not saying 762x51 rather just 7.62.. They said 'hey this is not a SKS board newbie'! New guys are almost hazed by some of the older members. I thought man you guys take this way to serious.
Thanks again for all the hard work by the mods
