What do you know about dehumidifiers?
I'd like to build my own house in a few years. I'm already thinking about how I will build a gun room that will double as a tornado shelter. I've looked at a few sites, and have been thinking about a pad site where the house sits on the top and side of a hill. You would enter on the top floor, but could exit out the back door of the bottom floor...and also have a drive that terminates at a garage in the lower back.
I'm figuring either a basement, which is rare in Texas. Or, a concrete room. Concrete roof, walls, the works. The top and side of hill idea would be a combination of both designs. I'd also install a heavy steel security door and frame so I can sell off these heavy-arse EXPENSIVE gun safes that I have accumulated and get my cash back out of them.
I'd like a backdoor that opens to the outside..preferrably to a field so I can shoot...then step back inside and tinker.
HOWEVER, I don't know anything about dehumidifier systems. Ideally, I would like the room to be air-tight, and served with a small package unit in conjunction with a dehumidifier so the firearms would stay rust-free in the ultra-dry environment.
Anyone know anything about dehumidifier systems?!??!?
